Brown boxes for content

I just downloaded seaport and large power plant mods, when I place them In my city all I see is a giant brown wrapped parcel, how do I see the building?

Brown Boxes (presents), are the result of missing Dependencies, something that should be listed in the download description or documentation. If you fail to install these vital extras, the originally downloaded content won’t work or display properly.

One of my best advices is to try to the LEX at SC4Devotion.  The dependency tracker and download history makes things great.  But unfortunately they do not have the same things as the STEX and also doesn't communicate with the STEX.  Also if you are talking about seaports, you probably are talking about Pegasus Seaports.  All of Pegasus work is only on STEX.

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it
