Monorail graphic glitch

Hello fellow SC4 players, this graphic glitch has been bothering me for a while. I've looked for solutions but maybe my words in the search bars were wrong and that's why I haven't found anything helpful. So if this issue belongs to another forum, I will understand, but for now I need to ask for help. I have NAM 37 and I always select that skin for the Monorail, and I was disappointed when I saw that the glitch was still there. Any thoughts? Is this common? Is there any patch I've missed during installation? If this is an unsolved glitch, is there a mod to replace the Shinkansen skin with a train that has no glitch? (I remember having used one but that unfortunately overrides my passenger train skin). Thanks in advance.

This isn't a NAM problem or even an issue with the BTM (monorail) mod, instead it comes from the Automata, i.e. the Train and Carriage models themselves. If a car is too long (I can't remember the specifics), then this effect can occur, usually near bends and the like. It's an unfortunate limitation, because Shinkansen trains, like a lot of other High Speed trains, tend to have quite long carriages and if you want them to look realistic, you have a choice between triggering the bug or squashing them to a size that may not look right.

The ID's used for the models (S3D) determine which train they will override. If it was ONLY overriding the passenger train, you'd need to re-ID that to the monorail IDs. If it was ALSO overriding the passenger train, you can remove those parts from the mod manually, so only the Monorail train get's overridden. If you tell us explicitly which Automata you want to use, I'm sure someone can help you with these aspects if you aren't comfortable modding yourself.

It is a shame we can't fix this problem from the other side, but as mentioned such coaches look squashed if you try to make them fit SC4's limitations.

Hiya Robin, Agree with your points, same issue just happened to my rail train mod lately, and i thought the twisting cars occurred based on the length of the cars not the engine length or the length of the entire train, basing on me tests, The length of the car couldn't be bigger than 22m or 24m (bad memory*:blush:), But the engine is ok there, And also i dimly remember that have seen this limitation in one of LUA files. Hope it helps.:}

    Thank you very much for the replies, I didn't know about that size limitation :/ I've never mod anything so I might have to stick to a straight Monorail line all over my region, lol. Thanks again :)
