Is there a color code for what color corresponds to what height somewhere?

I'd like to enter some RGB values in MS paint and be able to know exactly what height it will correspond to on the map.

thanks!

Assuming you are working in grayscale where the R, G, and B are always the same value and you do save the image as a true grayscale (not de-saturated color RGB) then you just multiple the value by the ImageImportScaleFactor which is 3 by default. Some terrain mods include the TerrainProperties exemplar and change that value so watch out for that.

With the Sea Level at the default 250 meters that means 83 grayscale multiplied by 3 = 249 meters and would be slightly below water. 84 grayscale would then be 2 meters above Sea Level.

    Thanks Corina,

But the file type I am editing are color bmps which mapper can import to create regions from.  An example of the color scheme is below.

Ah! That uses a specialized method where part of the values of the R, G, & B have a particular meaning to Mapper itself.

Check out the SCTF RGB importer tool. It says it's also for use with Mapper.
