I have 3 created sims, but the program doesn't know that they are husband wife and son. Do I have to establish relationships before I create the sim?

Assuming your are using the MySim mode in SimCity 4, there is no option for relationships. It's a very, very basic setup where you can move Sims into homes and they will have a job and mostly are useful for sending them around town to see how they feel about things. With imagination, you can have little stories about their life, but the ones in this game are not at all like even The Sims 1.

Respectfully, I don't think you understand. This game is NOT The Sims. It is a CITY building game, NOT a personal interaction game.

See, SimCity came BEFORE The Sims was ever invented. People enjoyed creating cities so much that they decided to take it to a smaller level where you created actual houses & people & interactions/relationships from them. But that only came AFTER SimCity was invented. And while SimCity 4 has the ability to import Sims from your The Sims game, you can't really do anything with them, because that was never the point. The point was building cities. Being a mayor, zoning for types of development, adding in civic stuff like power, water, schools, etc. Frankly, if you don't want to build cities (or towns, or suburbs, or rural farming communities), you've got the wrong game.

Now do you understand? :)

Level 3 is a city, Level 4 is a community.

Yikes!, @c4bl3fl4m3. Your post comes across as rather harsh IMO. :O

I'm sure that's not your intention because of how helpful you are around the site. Just saying it could have a more mellow tone. *;)

Thank you for all the responses. Its true, I don't exactly understand the difference between the different games. I have Sims4, am I on the wrong forum? I didn't realize there was a difference between The Sims 4 and SimCity. Can you recommend a forum for The Sims4?

    Thanks

    Ah! That explains it. *:)

Yeah, SimCity 4 is a completely different game. I don't personally know of a good site for The Sims 4, but I imagine Google will.

    Good luck.

While I'm only into SC4 here still and Simtropolis remains my home, I came across this forum which might be worth looking into:

Of course, you still are very welcome here at ST also, and you know where to come if ever wanting to get into a city building game. *;)

    Try either ModTheSims or TheSimsResource

A lot of great custom content on those sites, i would guess the forums are decent as well
