Night lights not working

I am having an issue with buildings and props not lighting up at night. Only the original simcity4 buildings and lots light up at night, none of the buildings or lots that I have downloaded light up anymore. Most of the files are DN. I have downloaded the darknite (simfox day_night mod), which did not solve the problem. With or without the darknite mod, the buildings still do not light up. Anyone know of a fix?

If you've either the original disk-based version, Origin edition or Mac version of SC4, you will not see nitelights on custom models by default. For the first of those three examples, exists two updates everyone should install, the second will allow such lighting to work.

No such update was ever released for the Mac version and the Origin digital edition is basically unpatched and unpatchable, which is a bigger problem than just missing lights.

All other digital releases should come pre-patched, i.e. the two SC4 Deluxe updates/patches are not required.

Hi, I just want to confirm, I'm playing on Mac but the steam version.
It's said that the game is version 1.2.1, but I do have problems with some custom buildings that don't have nightlights too. Do I need to install those two patch too?

The Steam version for Mac is ultimately identical to the AppStore version. Sadly this means not only is your game unpatched, but that it also can never be patched either. In other words, you can never see nitelights on custom buildings.
