Hello!

So, I have a little project that I want to release to the STEX; it's a museum that I want as a substitute for the Maxis Major Art Museum. I've looked at it in Reader and it lacks some properties to work like the Maxis counterpart, like the ability to provide CAP relief and Park effect, as it stands now, it works like a regular musem. If I use Reader to copy the properties from the original Maxis exemplar and paste them in my museum, will it work without any problem?

Thanks in advance!

I'm certain that @mattb325 knows how to do that.

Essentially you won't go wrong if you copy the 'Demand Satisfied' and 'Landmark Effect' categories from the Maxis version into your version (which sounds like you've made it as a Museum in the PIM-x or Maxis Pim.

Also cross check the values of the Occupant Groups (minus the OC group 'building: reward' ), Mayor Rating Effect, Wealth, School EQ Boost and School Effectiveness vs Average Age and when they match, you've basically replicated the Major Art Museum. *:)

@matias93 Ah yes, In fact I wanted to replicate what he's done with his many civic buildings.

@mattb325 Thanks! That is essentially what I want to do, indeed I used the museum template in PIM-X. So I'll just raise the EQ boost to match that of the maxis museum, and cross check the properties

So... I don't know what happened but Reader decided to wipe out the lot exemplar and a Parent Cohort exemplar appeared instead, corrupting the whole SC4.Lot file in the process; PIM-X even refused to load with the file in my plugins folder. I deleted the Parent Cohort thing and it's back to normal but the lotting is gone and I didn't make a backup so I'll have to do it all again. May this be a lesson...

I do feel your pain. It has happened to me many times.

Which version of the reader are you using? I'm mostly use v093: it seems to corrupt files less often than the newer version. Also, when copying and pasting a lot of data between lots, I also find it helps to make one or two changes, then save those changes, close, reopen and then continue on with the rest of the modding.

Ahh, I see, I use version 1.54 but I'll switch to v093 for this touchy procedures. And thanks for the info and the useful tip!

In the end, losing the lot wasn't so bad, I had taken screenshots so it wasn't hard to recreate it; it's already done in fact.
