Saint James, a New England metropolis

So, as i was taking uploading a shot of my rail yards, it occurred to me that i was trying to dump too much lore into a thread. I decided to start my first City Journal, because i'm terrible at LPs and want to flesh out my city. So, without further ado...

SAINT JAMES!

Saint James, a crown jewel of Infrastructure and Status, lies somewhere in New England. The constant target of railroad investment and the decision to form a new Transit Authority and Municipal Freight Railroad when Penn Central went to hell has kept a lot of railways and other transit in the city. The grand station, designed based on Europe by the New Haven, provides an elegant way to travel into the city, with a comprehensive Metro and Suburban train system weaving together the majority of suburbia, and a couple Funicular lines going to sleepy resorts.

I hope you enjoy my journey of designing it.

Today, i'm working on the Hoyt Port. The first picture is of the mammoth double datacenter constructed during 2015. Looking like a Simon Stålenhag picture (On a side note; his book is  getting a movie? NICE.), the datacenter is mostly rented out by Bitcoin Mining, an endeavor the Port Authority thinks is laughably stupid but lets stay around anyway due to the revenue and a pilot Waste Heat program. The second photo is of the Deadline, previously used to ship to various factories, it lays in a state of semi-abandon due to a newer terminal taking it's place. It serves as a place to store dead equipment, with a pair of older tankcars and a MP70 waiting their fates. In the distance, a new parking lot is being constructed, soon to pave over the deadline.

Early-Morning Update; Port's done. I'll get glamour shots soon, but here's the overview.

Getting my Jamespost out of the way for tomorrow; the finishing touches on one yard and the beginnings of another. The green on the Bilevel denotes it as the Border Line, going over into our favorite maple-flavored land of decency and meese. The last photo is of my yard. It's that size to serve many lines; space is at a premium in Saint James proper and so the yard is right outside it. The last photo shows Harborside Station, soon to serve the lower-end neighborhood of Harborside, and the beginning of the A? (May go with a color system this round, but that'll make designating expresses hard) line. The Bus Loop, new station and concrete sleepers are relatively new, Saint James being a city that loves investing in transit.

    1. A peeking X60 Coradia on it's way to the city

    2. A mall and a ridiculous retaining wall. Planning sense dwindles near the WASPy suburbs.

    3. The train yard has Litras and Coradias on display

    4. The metro yard is undergoing a crowded expansion project; CIMtrans accompanies and supervises contractors on it. A work train idles.

Sorry. The St.James project has been put on hiatus, and possibly canceled, due to me needing a fresh start upon my return to CS. Honestly, i'm pretty sure it's not coming back; there's a lot of stuff i did badly. However, i'm working on something new and hopefully better.
