Bring back the MOTM Awards?

Just realised apart from "missing" Trixies the MOTM/EOTM awards have left. Is there any intention of reviving them?

I think one issue is because the awards (profile medals) aren't compatible with the new board software. This is definitely something on the agenda.

Once the awards are restored, I agree bringing MOTM back is a good idea, even in a revised format.

One wonders what kind of image is not supported by the web software we are using.  Most images can be converted easily from one format to another using either GIMP or Inkscape.  A native Inkscape image (XML) may not always work on some sites.

Specifically, the issue resides with the system used to configure & assign the awards. In the previous software, this was achieved using a plugin. It allowed the medals to be assigned to user profiles, which displayed them on a profile field. It's this plugin which isn't yet compatible.

Without a system in place (this one or a suitable alternative), it's not really feasible to code everything manually. As you could imagine, there's hundreds of different awards, making up numerous combinations.

The award medals themselves were GIFs, so they should work once imported into a new setup.

Thanks.  The page source looks like current HTML (V?).  I guess the plugin must be in some arcane thing wilder than Java Script.

I have a thing about using odd-ball development languages, and I tend to avoid them.  My personal web site is in plain, old HTML.  I looked at several "generator" languages such as PHP and felt that the game wasn't worth the candle.

Maybe your plugin could be remade in XML, which should work with any system.
