T-Wrecks' Orange Blocks ??

Yo, guys --

I love T-Wrecks' industrial filler lots --modular flexibility and authentic grunge.  Good stuff!

After I plop one of the lots, the little orange blocks dutifully disappear.

BUT -- somewhat later, perhaps after I pause to build a complicated seaport, or residential area, I notice that the orange blocks have reappeared.  I bulldoze the offending lots -- usually all of them, but not always -- and re-plop them.  All will be well for a while, then they come back.

I do not have this problem with filler lots of my own creation, so I imagine it has something to do with the rendering method T-Wrecks used.

QUESTION:

Is this the tell-tale sign of the folly of loading up an old computer with too much stuff??

I'm running WIN 2000 with 2Gb RAM.  I have Brigantine water, Meadowshire Terrain, and Meadowshire Tree controllers installed -- as well as NAM 32.

I did not have the orange block problem before installation of the controller Mods and the FULL installation of NAM 32.  If you guys think I'm pushing the tech limits on my machine, perhaps some pointers on scaling back NAM or the controllers would help.

As a last resort, I could make my own filler lots to replace T-Wreck's -- though I don't know how to "TE" the gate shack in his set.

Opinions -- ideas -- suggestions?

Thanx, much --

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

This is working as intended. The orange blocks are special props, used to help you line up the pieces when plopping them. It is possible to mod such props to appear briefly, then never again, but in reality I've not seem many that work so slickly. Usually they are timed and appear no more than one day a year, just be patient, they will disappear once more if left alone.

Note that sometimes, highlighting the lots including such props will make them appear to be there, but when you move the mouse, again they should disappear.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

    Yo, my friend --

I, too, shall be patient --

Thanx -- removes a load of worry.
