Update #1

Typically, DTangent would lay down the transportation network as he went.   But, because of the layout of Onion Creek and the limited funds available, he decied to build the connecting bridges first.   This was to prevent excessive overhead in the future.

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-1.jpg align=baseline>

Agriculturle, this is the mainstay of Onion Creek, at least for the moment.   Onion Creek would become a model for future developing cities.

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-7.jpg align=baseline>

A city is born!!!     With the development of Onioin Creek's agricultural industry, Onion Creek is now able to support a small town populace.   D.T.  get to work as he plans for the future.   A town center is established.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-8.jpg align=baseline>

D.T notices quicly that agriculture can't sustain a city of any size.   With less than 2k in population, D.T. immedialy notices that commerical interests will soon develop among the citizens, which could crumble any town that would not plan for such an event.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-9.jpg align=baseline>

Commerce beings in Onion Creek, forcing more development and mounting costs.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-10.jpg align=baseline>

The city seems to be doing well.   With only a starting income of 500 million, things should be going great.   Unfortunantly, 500 million does not equate to much.    With the establishment of three railroad lines, a highway, and the agricultural industry, the coffers of Onion Creek are getting low.   With a little over 100 million left in the budget, D.Tangent starts to worry.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-11.jpg align=baseline>

Even so, town development continues.   Trade is established, but soon the citizens start demanding more out of the planning commision and the acting mayor.   Education, fire prevention, and medial assistance are big topics within Onion Creek.   D.T. obliges.  He builds an elementary school, a treatment clinic, and a 2 engine fire station.   All come out of the budget for the city.   Est. total cost is over 2mil.
<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Onion%20Creek-12.jpg align=baseline>

D.T. begins to show doubt in the capabilities of the OC power grid.   Powered by mostly obsolete mills and generators, and with an ever-increasing demand for power, the remnants of past times can't sustain the citizens forever.

Thanks for visiting Tukino Valley.   Update two will come tomorrow.    Major changes are in store plus the best shots you've ever seen of a small farming community.

This is a good start. In the future, though, avoid in-game signage in your pictures. It's the Simtropolis tradition to put labels in pictures with programs like MS Paint or Photoshop, which is relatively easy to do and does look a little more refined. No harm done, however, with this fantastic first update. Best of luck on this CJ.

- Thanks for the comments.    Will do, sorry about that 1.gif

Micah
- Thanks 1.gif   I'm not a good story teller, but I'm going to try and base this CJ on the story as much as possible.   I hope its interesting for everyone 1.gif

Equilibria
- Sorry about that.   Also, I made these pics before I read your post.   In the future I will use PS to make labels 1.gif

Thanks for all the comments and I hope I do a good job on the CJ.  If you see anything that doesn't look right, doesn't fit, or just looks to plain, please let me know.   I am learning as I go.  This is my first attempt at any kind of realism.

A small town develops as funds are used to expand the city center.

Farming projects are still ongoing.   The farming community in Onion Creek is broad.  The farming community requested services, which were previously provided by Dades Point.  DT obliged by building a complex of farming services. A veterinarian, vehicle and farm equipment supplier, and a Co-Op were built.   Also, the Bureau of Farm Management was established.  DT appointed the chairmen of the Onion Creek Farmers Syndicate as manager.   Total cost for the complex was 22 million and some change.

Sugar is the primary export in Onion Creek.   Thus, GoobeRum Industries was eager to build a cane processing plant.   DT had to convenience the mayor that this would be a great asset to OC.  GoobeRum Industries was given a 7% tax break over the next 10 years.   Onion Creek must also pay fines to GoobeRum Industries if the output of the plant ever falls below 80% due to cane production within the next 15 years.
