Fauna Everywhere.

I'm not sure anybody else has experienced this issue, but I have experienced it for awhile now.  I believe it started after I installed NAM32 when it first came out (I know, I'm a procrastinator). :whatevs:

Before, any fauna (bears, deer, moose, llamas, etc..) would come in contact with a city structure, such as a street, or a zoned area, it would disappear.  Now, they are running amuck in my cities.  They will cross streets, enter into zoned areas, run through parks where children are playing....  Anybody have any ideas what might have caused this and what I can do to get it back to default where the fauna disappear when they come in contact with the city?

I have all my graphic settings to high, and when I installed NAM, I vaguely remember choosing some option to increase automata persistance.

It's due to suburban sprawl cutting into the animals' natural habitats. ;) I recommend zoning green belts through your cities, animal crossing overpasses on your highways, and shifting towards high-density, mixed development for sustainability.

Seriously, I haven't noticed this with NAM32, although I believe I set the automata to the minimum.

Hahaha, sounds like SimJumanji!

I don't play the game these days, so I cannot really help. However, it sounds possible to me that the persistence of transit automata and fauna could be related.

Never experienced this, so I will tell you the first cause that comes to my mind. When planting trees with the God Mode in the Mayor mode tools, fauna is always spawn. Do you recall planting trees massively throughout built-up areas?

I do have a lot of trees, but these were all done in God Mode before the city was established. I don't use God Mode once the city is established.

I have this same issue, when I plant my trees, these were all done in God Mode before the city was established too. I don't know why this happens really.

I know that feeling. Kangaroos, possums, echidnas and sometimes foxes are all too common on the roads in my area.

In Canadian urban centres, you don't get much wildlife beyond the usual vermin, but out here in the rural areas you get what the area will allow.  We have deer, coyotes (their chief predator), raccoons, and rather a large number of raptors including eagles, hawks and falcons.  Occasionally we see a snowy owl, but that is quite an unusual and recent phenomenon.  We also get a black bear, once in a while.  If you go a couple of hundred Km north of here, you do hit the Canadian shield, and then you get the whole list of creatures.
