    Actually it is not full update. I just want to show you some scenic areas in Eladremme after construction of Iptihondra hwy and Rubbrefo Rlws. branchline was finished.

    South highway entrance to the region. The E-667 goes trhough the hugest ravine next to the lake:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    At the bottom of ravine is really dark. All vehicles must turn on their head lights cause this highway still have no illumination:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    As a whole, Iptihondra highway goes over one river and three lakes. Here is two of those lakes in the middle of the region:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    There is one very impressive area in Eladremme - Nichru Mountains First was proposed to follow terrain while building a highway and railway, but the goverment said their NO and longest Nichru tunnels was built:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    And here is just scenic intersection of railway and highway near by Construction Site:

    Building Directives Violation in ETSAW

    Hello dear friends!
    Before you read about wich bulding directives was violated during Power and Utilization Organ construction i want to introduce this U.P.O. to you:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    If you read this journal from very first post, you maybe remember, that Etsaw was built to provide with power and relieve from garbage whole region. Actually i've created this area before i start working on terraforming, so it's time to show it up. It is situated at the north side of the region on a Ipsum river:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Also, Etsaw will be a part of the regional industrial area.
    Here is the scheme of Etsaw district:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    So, some close views:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Turning back to the theme of update. The main building violaton in Etsaw is about constructions at the residential area. The goverment had started an investigation concerning next issues:

    - building unplanned housing blocks;
    - disregard of distanse between the apartment buildings;
    - building unplanned commercial zones;
    - illegal sale of ground areas;

    Here is some shots of residential area:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    These and other districts will be reconstructed.
    At this moment residential area holds about 210.000 of dwellers. Etsaw residential area is assigned for P.U.O. workers only and must hold about 50.000-70.000 residents. In this case, all exessive apartments will be demolished. The rest of housing areas will be rebuilt in compliance with building interval directive.

    At this moment the head of Etsaw construction team Rhal Tucdloc is hiding somewhere. After police and vigilant forces found him, he will be banished back to the Earth and sended to the involuntary servitude camp.

    Hey, Marrast, that's some kick-ass terraforming! I see your gaming skills are as great as your skills with the BAT. This looks like the best CJ I've seen, by far!

    And you gave me about a ton of good ideas...

    Oh, thanks for all these great comments, friends! Here is another update for you to read or rather watch :}

    * * *

    Etsaw residential zone being reconstructed.

    A reconstruction works was started in Etsaw under close supervision of Eladremme goverment.

    picture is no longer aviable;

    The main objective is replaning of the housing communities in compliance with directives below:

    - An interval between front sides of the residential high-rise buildings must be
       not less than 128 meters.

    - An interval between side wall of the residential high-rise buildings must be not less than
       96 meters if the building has a windows on a side wall. If the residential high-rise building
       has not sidewall windows, so minimal interval between this kind of buildings is 64 meters.

    - A residential high-rise building must have no more than 15 floors.

    Ok. The developing of the first reconstruction site is almost finished:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Actually i don't know how to comment these pics. Let it be something lika report about the work that have been done 9.gif:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Here is one modest courtyard of the Southen Community in Etsaw:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    And this is iproved version of the Iptihondra highway approach:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    That's all for today :} I will reconstruct the other part of the residenial and commercial area in Etsaw, so when it will be finished, i'll begin to develop other parts of the region :}

    I hope that you like all that i've posted.
    Comments a welcomed :}

    Also, if you have some questions - feel free to ask :}

    To Andrew George and ChicAgo333:
    Thanks for your comments, guys :}
    Actually the road system must be improved, also, it's still unfinished yet :}

    Just Can't Get Enough.

    Oh well, i've decide to replan the residential area again 9.gif

    Now, the high-rises will be placed only down to the main street - Ittap Nitsua Ave.
    Like this:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Cause if i fill the whole shore with these housings, the residential populaton will be too big :}
    I'll put some small cheap apartments around these high-rises :}

    And here is my zoning style at this residential area:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Also, at this pic you can see road holes. It's a traffic control lots. I've decide to create maximum organized road system from very beginning. At this time, i have my buses riding on their exacting routes. Here:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    At this time the tunnel to the ferry is for bus traffic only. Cars don't want to use it, but other routes to the ferry that possible are districted for the buses. It's very useful. Now i don't have one route to ferry fully crowded, while another route is disused.

    Also, i've designed two junctions of Ittap Nitsua Avenue and most crowded roads:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    Here is closer view to the one of them. No traffic signals at all! :}

    picture is no longer aviable;

    And here is the second - my favourite one:

    picture is no longer aviable;

    I think that in the future, I will replace these 1x1 bus stops with 1x2 ones, to allow pedestrians to get them directly from the street that lies next to the avenue.

    I don't usually comment on CJ's though I read them a lot but this time I must say: Really nice! I'm currently working on my first all hand-made region (fully terraformed with ingame tools) and this is giving me lot of inspiration, can't wait to start actual city building :)

    Couple of questions:
    1) you have nicely used specific lot size to get the buildings you wanted to grow in residential area (2x4?). Is there a list of all buildings somewhere with their sizes? I've been trying to locate one but with no luck.
    2) What kind of forest/tree mods you're using? Such nice variety of trees!

    Keep up the nice work :)

    Thanks for your comments, friends! :}

    To Huru: It's really great to hear some questions from you. Will answer with pleasure :}
    So, concerning residential buildings. I use Alt and Cntrl keys to get zone size i need. There is a little feature: if you draw a 1x4 zone with road access arrows along the road, most often this zone will break apart by small 1x2 houses. But if you draw a 1x4 zone transversely to the road (with only two road access arrows) the game will not able to breal this by 1x4 pieces, soon o later you will have a high-rise, no doubt.
    But there is a second issue. How to get the right one. The one that you want. The residentials high-rises in this CJ are a part of Chicago 1890's building style. So, i just turn off all the styles in Buiding Style Control exept one - Chicago 1890's.
    But that's not all :} In this style set there is two most popular low wealth high-rises: Cobble Stone (if i remember right) and New Beginnings. Here in Etsaw district i use New Beginnings Apartments, so if i have Cobble Stone growing, i buldoze it and wait till i get right one, the New Beginnings. Only after this, i make it historical and that's all :}

    And about trees. Actually, it's not a mod, all the trees variety you see here i made by myself in the Lot Editor. I always love those tallest pinetrees in the SC3000 so, i've made few lots using standart large and medium pines:} But there is one important thing - using the turn button.
    In LE i turn every oft-recurring prop to make it look not very cloned. The same thing with lots using. I just plop it, then before i plop it again, i turn it, then plop, then turn twise, etc. :} So it gives a lot of variety and prevents from cloned look of your parks, gardends, or else with recurring props :}

    Well, i hope my answers are useful enough. And not only for you, but for the other simtropoleans too21.gif
    I'm glad that you find some inspiration here :} Would be intresting to see your CJ 1.gif

    Very nice but I would try to upgrade a lot of the streets to roads because the streets don't really belong in a developed area with mid rise apartment buildings, you'll go through hectic traffic problems! IMO that is...

    Really love your terrain - can't wait to see how you will integrate a city into some parts of it. the restriction of the bus routes is an interesting idea - although I do not have that much patience, to figure all the bus routes out.

    Can't wait to see more 1.gif35.gif35.gif

    Der Cuubeness.

    Well, some progress.
    They decided to fill the whole residential shore with those ugly grey and dull Der Cuube buildings. Poor poor sims.
    Many of them just can't remember which one is where they live in:

    chap006_001.jpg

    Many of Der Cuubes still have no any courts. But those ones, closer to the main avenue already have nice courtyards. A lot of fun for children:

    chap006_005.jpg

    After a skate park was builded at the Southen School yard, the school becomes a favourite place for the most of children now:

    chap006_002.jpg

    Some of sims, who lives at the outskirts of this Der Cuube heaven are very upset with this ugly landscape, that they see from their windows every day:

    chap006_004.jpg

    This waste area is reserved for the Etsaw Bus Depot:

    chap006_003.jpg

    And here you can see some New Beginnings and Der Cuube apartments together in Southen Community:

    chap006_006.jpg

    A grocery market near the house. The whole multistorey wakes up every morning with its din:

    chap006_007.jpg

    Some of dwellers from first floors of this multistorey never see the sun because of tallest trees:

    chap006_010.jpg

    If you wanna find some cheap but useful stuff, this place is what you need. A Modles Mall:

    chap006_011.jpg

    A Nitsua Ittap Avenue in all its glory:

    chap006_008.jpg

    The oldest non-traffic-lights interchange in Southen Community:

    chap006_012.jpg

    Southen Community Police Station:

    chap006_013.jpg

    And a little bit redesigned Southen Community Ferry approach:

    chap006_009.jpg

    Looks like that's all for today :}

    .......................................
    Oh my dear LORD!!! [:0]

    This is one of the coolest interchange I've ever seen in SC4!

    I have absolutely no idea how you managed to build that but now you have earned all my respect and admiration lol!36.gif19.gif

    I'm really really looking forward for next updates. I like I lot how everything is so planned out and all the details you put in here like the courts yard and the tall pine trees (I want them badly!!).

    Thanks a lot for the tip on 4x2 residential zones. I didn't know it was possible to have buildings on 4x2 zones. At the begining, I was wondering why I've never had those New Beginings Apartment in my cities. But yesterday I built a new district in one of my city with only 4x2 zones and this became one of my best city because of that. I also put your train station in the middle of this district so I don't have traffic problems.

    BTW Marrast, do you have other older CJ here I could check to give me inspiration for my cities?

    Continue the good work 44.gif, can't want to see other pictures!

    I really love your city dude, and your trainstations!
    That intercange quoted in the post above mine, are those two middel oneway roads traffic enabled lots or not?
    I also love the burbs you are building bigscale housing complexes are ugly but sure realistic. You see them sometimes popping up here in Holland as well.30.gif

    Oh! It's so great to read all these comments 5.gif Thank you, guys! :}

    I will answer to some:

    To SkyTearer: The Eladremme Regional Goverment uses the experience of socialist countries in building large industrial worker class communities :}

    To Poiuy1208: Well, i'm trying to keep this district as poor and modest as possible, cause it's only a wasteland/industry district. I must retain more intresting and beautiful city planing ideas for the regional center. There will be some paradise places in Eladremme, no doubt 29.gif

    To Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya: Hey, have a 40.gif for your great comment :}
    Jasperdeman.nl is right it was builded using 1x13 transit enabled oneway lots :}
    What i can say about pine trees - every one who has a LE can do it :}
    You just need few usual pinetrees and Cntrl+Up Arrow combination 2.gif
    I'm glad that my experience on zoning is so useful for some, it's great that you discovered some new opportunities with it :}
    And yes, i've had only two CJs before this one:
    First was Emerson Town and the second is Somewhere in the southwest . You can still read them, but there is no pics now.

    To Jasperdeman.nl: Quite right :} It's a 1x13 transit enabled oneway lots :} I should post some more pictures of this intersection in the next update :}

    To Jetty Jockey: Thanks for the question. I will post some statistics after Northen Community will be finished :} I hope it will be in two, may be three updates :} So stay tuned :}

    Ok thanks for the answers. Yea when I think about it, that's true that these pine trees are pretty easy to do. And the obvious question now : those 1x13 transit enabled oneway lots, are they from you or did you downloaded them somewhere? I don't know if it's easy to do or not because I'm not really into that but if it's a creation of you, I think it won't be a bad idea if you upload this on the STex (when it'll be working)seeing what beautiful things you can achieve with that. This is not really urgent because I don't have enough space in my existing cities to build such an interchange but it'll be nice if I could do similar things one day.

    The most important thing is that you update this CJ 2.gif19.gif

    Too bad the pics in your other CJ's are gone and thanks for the duckie lol.

    One and only pleasure.

    Well last update was a long time ago. So, here are some pics from Etsaw again. Currently the low wealth part of the residential shore is almost finished. It's only needed to wait till i get the right buildings in the cheapest housing block in the Der Cuubeness Community:

    chap007_004.jpg

    Also, courtyards are already finished in Der Cuubeness:

    chap007_002.jpg

    And here is a couple of Bus Depot pics. Actulally, this is not only bus depot, but also a community parking lot:

    chap007_001.jpg

    chap007_003.jpg

    Mondo Burger - one and only pleasure:

    chap007_005.jpg

    Also, planing of the Iptihondra Highway flyover is ready:

    chap007_006.jpg

    And here is a main street'n'road planning for the future medium wealth housing communities:

    chap007_007.jpg

    And the last one for today, one of the best intersections of the Etsaw:

    chap007_008.jpg

    So, i hope that you like this pics :}
