Hi, that's a nice small update there, J.O.! So UFOs are spotted in Askatasuna...Hmm, I would've thought the government would attempt to cover up the entire thing and say it was a hoax, lol. About time for Geb-kind to meet some aliens? 18.gif Well, nice little addition here anyways, and I look forward to another great update! 36.gif

Hi J.O.! This update is amazing...I haven't seen an update this long for quite awhile now, lol. Well, looks like each character's story is beginning to relate to each other now. And Governor Timotheus sure is a busy man, wonder what he'll do to frogface when he goes to check on his project...About that Doctor Idal, he's a little creepy, lol! He seems to be a little clumsy too...getting poked in the eye by a sculpture. Anyways, the song that you wrote is definitely impressive! It does make sense, in a way, and it rhymes well too, lol. Very well written. 44.gif Of course, I'll be waiting to see what it is that my character finds in the Great Desert...and how everything will tie in together. I really like this CJ, it's like reading a novel, yet you have to wait for the next chapter...And as always, I look forward to another great update, J.O.!36.gif

Daniel Henderson’s office in Euskadi was downright messy. There were piles and piles of paper on every single free space, pictures pinned on the walls and even more clogging the drawers. Daniel was an investigator of UFOs. His work, sort out all the incoming trash of pictures of UFO sightings. Lately though, the number of reports increased in volume and reliability. Anyone who entered the room would be greeted by a falling pile of paper that was left behind the door and a man who confusingly dug trough that mess to find the door and rescue whomever entered from the pile of paper.
Suddenly a woman entered the room and said
    “Hey Dan!” seconds later “WHAA!!!”
It was Merina, the secretary, who just dodged the falling pile of paper.
”You almost got me there… anyways Governor Timotheus is in the holophone…”
“Ok, tell him I’m going” Daniel replied

A minute later Timotheus’s slightly fat face, but yet with the pointy nose and ears, full of white hair appeared… He grimed

“Well, I guess that you were digging that pile of paper that is your office again eh?”
Daniel sighed and waved his head in agreement.
“Anyways I did this quick call to send you this draft of another sighting… It was the same shape as the one who hit the latest news this morning, so here you go…”
    ufo9xb.jpg
He saw Timotheus pressing some buttons in the console of the holocamera and the printer near the equipment chugged and spat the image of the two-saucer UFO…

“Hmm… As I told you, I guess this thing is a merging of two saucers… the bridge looks very fluidic, as if two blobs of jelly were connecting with each other…”

Timotheus sighed and said “Actually, this worries me. Intel reports that no such designs were found in Askatasuna or any other country, what means these saucers are surely of alien origin…
If they really are xenomorphs, we need to know what are their purposes… are they only watchers who study us, or do they have other intentions?” He glared as finished the sentence

“Yet this is beyond my knowledge… These things are plain saucers, I can’t identify a single component on that…”

“Who knows… Not me for sure… Now I have to go, my plane takes off in 5 minutes”

With that the holoprojector hummed and turned off.

    -------------------

“To simplify my theory, I asked the graphics department to do this simple illustration of it, which is mathematically possible…”
It was early in the morning, this time Ryan was explaining his theory to a group of consultants from the best laboratories in Geb, they seemed to be interested in Ryan’s theory…
    branes3so.jpg
“You can see two planes… the top one is “our” universe, or brane as we call it. The lower one is a parallel universe of ours, but smaller. The red bridges are the connections between the branes.
Let’s say, A is Hathor, while B is in Beta Monocerotis, a “small” distance of 12 light years… We create a tunnel between our brane and the smaller brane, which is named Omega-35, and it is much smaller than our universe… We jump into it, and travel on normal sub light systems for around 50000 kilometers. Aftermath we jump back to our brane-unvierse, kissing Monocerotis’s heliosphere…”

One of the consultants raised his hand
“Mr. Ryan, this is a very interesting project, although I have a question. This works on paper, but do you have any designs for a device that could transport even a pebble from two places?”
*Ahem* “Actually, I do. This is a small-capacity window generator which could surely move something as big as a rat from one extremity to another of our planet.” Ryan then pressed a button on the control and two complex ring-shaped devices appeared.
“One of these would open the window, say, right here on the university campus, while the other would be over Cerealia, half world from here, after some tuning we would open the gates and send a probe to analyze how does Omega-35 is. Aftermath we’ll send a rat trough there to show it’s safe…”
The small meeting room burst in laughers and clapping.

“So far, the only issue I foresee is energy usage. Calculations show we would need Many gigawatts of electricity to keep the window open long enough to move the probe trough the whole target.”

“This can be dealt with, but what about moving it trough the Omega-35? I guess the probe will not have any propulsion?” An woman asked.

“My plan would be of using a precise alignment between the windows to move the probe, but yet, calculations show the jump windows are relatively large, thus we can give ourselves some indulgence of not having 100% precision.”

A ring was heard and then Ryan said:
“Well, sorry, I got a class to lecture now.”
Shortly after greeting everyone Ryan went to the classroom main of the physics building, where he briefly exposed his theory to the students before starting the class.

    -------------------

The three worker bees maneuvered huge steel beams outside the space station, while the remaining ones overseed the work. These small sphere-shaped ships were very efficient on terms of work and fuel. A single one has enough fuel to disassemble half of the space station, if air reserves allow it to do so without stopping, although their equipment is quite primitive, just a magnetic claw to move metallic structures around. Plastic and sensible components have to be moved by the main crane which sits over the space station.

“Ok, now stop moving. Bees 4 and 5 go to the connection point and start torching the metal.” John ordered.
In a few hours the whole superstructure of the outer scaffold got assembled, just a plain rectangle scaffold ring, but that would be the first step to the orbital shipyard…

Now all they had to do was connect the structure with the main station, what would be very laborious…

“Ok, now, bees 1 to 3, manevoure this thing so the lower corner is touching the connection zone……. There! Perfect, now, 4 and 5, activate the secondary claws and connect yourselves to the hull.”

The two little ships moved to the connection point and grabbed the scaffold firmly. Aftermath the secondary magnetic claws in the rear of the vessels attached them to the hull, thus they formed a bridge to hold the enormous ring in place…

“Sir, now what will we do? We aren’t staying here until the torch work is done I presume?” One of the pilots asked.

“Indeed, prepare decompression suits and walk trough the hull until you find a hatch, enter the station trough there.”

“Hatches 4 and 5 have full clearance worker bee team; proceed to south or northeast of your position to reach them.” The control savant interrupted.

    “Understood”

“Ok guys, we’ll be getting inside now, time for a break, and oxygen supplies are running out.”

“Let’s go!” several voices shouted on the communicators.

After half an hour all the workers were inside and John explained the next step of their work…

“In 5 hours we’ll be attaching the scaffold to the station, this will be dangerous since we will have lots of torching, screw placement and adjustments, and don’t forget the flying debris this station likes to attract. Dispensed.”

The workers went to their bunks to do their business, like shower, sleep a little, get some food and all you can expect from a space assembly team.

“Mr. John, I ran projections of the construction, and at this rate it’ll be concluded in only two months. Aren’t we a little slow?” The station’s savant asked.

“Well, this is a very delicate assembly operation, and I take care of my workers, I don’t want any orbiting defunct, hence why we are in this slow rate, I already talked with the station administration, and we will have enough time to do our job, this measure, I believe, is stored in the data inbox of your processing systems.”

“Ah, I understand now, sorry for my impoliteness.”

    “No problems.”

    13.gifAnd now a word from our maestro13.gif
Sorry for the delay, but this baby took me longer than I expected to pull off... Just two images too, but the next one will be more thrilling, in my plans.
Frogface: Your update will be in a few....18.gif
Yuna: My plans for your character are quite secret and shall not be revealed. 2.gif
Timotheus: Sorry if I aged you a little (actually a lot) but your charachter will be better as an old man.
Rymac, jacqulina and the people's person: Thanks for the kind comments, they are instigating and make me want to write more.29.gif

This is pretty cool, but your last update's a bit... garbled... there are weird symbols appearing everywhere.

So my character ended up in Geb, after all?

    After some thinkering, yes.
The error is a charachter encoding, change from western to UNICODE, and the fuzzy symbols will be corrected to quote marks. (Also had that error)46.gif

So, another huge update! I hope you didn't strain your wrists by writing large updates like these, lol...Anyways, good to see further development in the story. Looks like those UFOs are beginning to worry people on Geb, hopefully they aren't hostile, but I'll have to wait to find that out. Now the idea about space travel, it's very neat! Jumping into a smaller parallel universe...definitely ingenious, lol. Very nice graphics there as well. And the space station, still under construction, I see...even though right now I don't know what role it'll play in the future, I'm sure it'll be pretty interesting nonetheless. Overall, I love the updates, and the entire story is moving along very nicely. I still can't see how all the events are related as of now, or how the story will play out, but that's the reason why I'll continue to await your updates to find out! So keep up the great work, J.O.! 36.gif
