Kinda big, isn't it? (The City, I mean...)

I know, this has been commented before, but I'd like to share some reflections from a different perspective.

This, because I was just working on my downtown and I completely forgot that I had the remaining maybe 80% of the city already up and running and I wasn't tracking it at all!! I mean: in SC4, when you were working on a tile (say, you were sculpting your suburbs or developing your downtown), as long as they were on different city tiles, you could as well as completely forget about the rest of the city, because at that moment, they weren't being simulated. Here, instead, everything is "always on" and you have the impression that everything is so damn big! Have you had this kind of sensation yet?

That's why I always pause the game when I'm working on a new area!

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

Yeah, it does strike me that the city is really big.  Sometimes when I am working on a new area I do pause the game.

The gargantuan size of the city really, really strikes me as something truly wonderful about the game.  It's so vast.  I am currently at 76,000 residents and it feels like I am dealing with about 5 million or so.  Mind you, I have about 5 tiles.  The areas in them are nowhere near fully utilized.  I wonder how I will ever get to 1,000,000 residents.  There is just so much room, it's awesome.

Yeah, I love this gigantic style map.  It does seem never ending at times though, and I haven't even unlocked the 25 tiles yet.  So far I don't see being able to make 1 million population.  I've unlocked over half the tiles (5 tiles so far) and I'm not quite at150k pop. If I can get 200k I might be able to make a million with all 25 tiles.  But with all of this water, It will be close I think.  a few maps have maybe half usable area, so it will be close.
