Terraforming Cities Skylines

Curious how difficult it would be to implement atleast limited terraforming tools into the city building portion of the game. Afterall, the ground is already changeable (as you see with roads and buildings leveling the land around them) we just don't have the tools to directly control it.

But then we DO have the tools in the map editor.

Would just be a matter of enabling them in the building mode. Since the terrain editor is still just running in the in-game engine. So theoretically they should just transfer over.

And then just try not to flood your city by accident.

Another great tool created just for Cities: Skylines is terrain.party

You can find info about it here: http://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/2y6yr4/

terrain.party really is easy to use but... I don't see a hight map folder anywhere... but I'm a Steam user so can anyone point me the way where I might find it?

I believe they go here: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\MapEditor\Heightmaps

Steam doesn't seem to make maps that way. I've searched for it on my computer but there isn't even a Addons map in any of the Cities_Skylines folders! *very confused*

I have used World Machine in the past for SC4 maps. I just uploaded my first C:SL mod to the STEX yesterday, also a map made with World Machine. It's a great program if you can get past it's learning curve.

I also bought the game from Steam, but there is no User/appdata... folder.

I can't find any of my maps in the computer, not even the greyscales i used. When i opened the greyscale in the map editor, it opened a window, but it wasnt anywhere on my computer, I'm confused.

the appdata folder is hidden by default in Windows. If you go into your folder settings in the control panel, you should be able to show all hidden files and folders.

    Hi,

You can use photoshop to make your map in size 1081/1081 pixel in greyscale and save in .png and after, you can import from map editor in the game.
