31.gif  Haha, I see.  I'll try to be more optimistic in the future9.gifquote>

I'm living proof of that, I got mine with only about 500 and something posts... 19.gif

I'm sure if you really want one, then it'll be easy to get, no matter how many posts you have.

I'd say they count as milestones.  quote>

You're right, my post is in the wrong forum. My apologies!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

I'm Kyle.  Although bbfan02's name is also Kyle.  And, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few more Kyles on ST, either. 3.gif

Thanks for clearing that up, Dan!

The CJ HOF icons look snazzy.  They fit in well with all of the existing ones.

"kaleidoscope". You almost got it.

Also, it's "spelled", not "spelt". 2.gif

You mean to tell me your browser doesn't have a spell checker?

Oh, ok. I guess I'll just have to call you ky72x throughout the forums to avoid confusion.

. . . a "kaleidoscope of Kyles" huh. That's one way of looking at it (EDIT: Pun NOT intended... You know; "looking through a kaleidoscope" and "one way of looking at it...").

If you look in you CJ, I bet you'll find a few. (Hint: Zelgadis and DragonAnime!) 2.gif

Deever: Yeah, calling me by my first name probably isn't optimal in forums other than my CJ. 3.gif

Try not to get too OT, everyone... then again, I did start this disscussion. 3.gif

Did you look through the thread at all? You're not supposed to ask for one, as it kind of defeats the purpose of surprise.

Anyways, very cool CML mightygoose! Does the honk thing have anything to do with gooses? 3.gif

My CML at simcities.net is Most Random SC4geek, due to something I can't remember in one of the off-topic threads...but it's already wormed its way into ST...see below.

Once one has a CML, it's quite rare for it to be taken away.... although, it being changed is fairly common, and is usually how things are done when one has a label signifying a position they no longer occupy. For instance, the ST Yearbook labels are all long gone since that is a defunct group. Most of its former members now have other labels- though many of them are of the "Trixie Winner 200X" variety, which was simply what got defaulted to since every trixie winner automatically gets one of those if they don't have another label.

Although, other icons do mean the same thing. There are a few people who's label consists solely of a MOTM medal, without "MOTM Winner" or anything like that. There's also a couple members with just the 3ds Max logo, and no "3ds Max User" or any such thing either.

The reason for this discrepancy is likely that trixie medal icons were first given out a bit after the 2004 trixies- and back in those days, custom labels replaced generic ones instead of supplementing them, which meant that without any text you'd have just the medal(s) and not even any "Resident", "City Slicker", or what have you. Would have looked quite ugly. And while MOTM medals were given out from the very beginning of those awards in January 2005, prior to the forum upgrade in April 2006 which made custom labels and generic labels coexist as opposed to being one or the other, there were only one or two instances of someone who did not already have a custom label getting one- and in those cases, the winner just quickly got an actual custom label to permit the medal's presence without looking otherwise barren. A couple of people who got trivia stars ended up with the label "Future Jeopardy Champion" in a similar manner. Things like badges for staff members, the 3ds Max logo. and CJHOF awards did not exist yet prior to that upgrade

...and since that upgrade, it's become acceptable to have someone have just an icon for a custom label. But trixie winners have continued to get those labels, perhaps out of sheer tradition and consistency. Would look awfully funny for there to be labels for 2003, 2004, and 2005, but for people from 2006 and 2007 to then just have the medals. Plus, there a lot more trixie winners with no other label than there are holders of any other decoration since trixies are much more common (hundreds of those things have been given out, other icons are decidedly rarer) and are much more potentially given to people who are otherwise not very well known. Like if a team wins an award and there's a member of that team who is a valid contributor to it but does so in private, behind the scenes, or elsewhere and has maybe a couple dozen posts here. People who win awards for CJs who rarely if ever post outside of the CJ forum or for custom content that upload plenty of stuff to the STEX but aren't seen around the forums much are other key situations in which you see such things.
