Problems with exported model - SC4BAT

As one of my first test projects, I tried to make a London Bus Stop sign, it was quite simple and the results looked great, until I exported the model into SC4, the quality for the sign is really poor I used a 128x256 px texture which is really sharp, but all the quality seems to have been lost.

As you can see (red arrows) for some reason it only displays in two views/rotations, I've no idea what I've done wrong there?

Can someone help me with this, thanks.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

You need to make your texture 2-sided in Max before you render. You can see the shadows for your sign but the backside is transparent since it is 1-sided.

You can render smaller props like that in HD which will vastly improve the zoom 6 quality.

HD Rendering sorted the quality issues, however, the texture is 2-sided, in gmax I rotate the model and the texture is on both sides.

After much playing around I created a second box for the other side because the texture on the alternate side needed to be flipped. This still had problems, but somewhere in playing around I managed to fix the problem even though I've no idea what I did.

Thanks so much for your help TCD

Is the sign face texture applied to a spline?
(ie. is the sign, rather than the post, itself a spline?)

By spline, it is an object, two actually as I made one for each side, I just made some flatish boxes to apply the texture, is this not the right way. I'm at a very early stage in Batting, but already I got my Bus Sign with acceptable results, so hopefully I'll be able to make a few things for my game.
