freight nightmare

On top of many other nightmares, is there a mod out there that does 1 thing and 1 thing only without any additional costs like more workers? that's no  offence to Nicola(sp?) who seems to do a lot of good mods, but all I want is the ability for the factories to produce more freight. Period. That seems to be my only Achilles heal at the moment and cause a ridiculous non-stop vicious circle  even at the advanced tech stages(though not as badly), but just like power gamers who ruin  mmo's, there has to be a balance throughout the stages, not just the end otherwise why bother. In my current ugly city (you should see it, it is 1 ugly city lol) in that I have no more room to add industry if I plan on adding my schools as well as the balance of my specialized buildings(coal and ore and all building that go with that) and to top it all off, make sure I have more than enough "R" to balance out the work force(I've long given up on the high wealth, it's so out of balance it's a farce.

So  to make that previous long story short, all I want is a mod with increased freight or a means to tweak it myself(though modding is WAY beyond me). It doesn't have to be huge, just double or triple the numbers from 60 to 120 or even 240 for each factory to keep my commerce from whining and produce enough goods to cut into that ridiculous disparity.  Pease and tanku as my granddaughter would say.

Well, if you don't want the extra workers, you may not be able to get the extra freight :/ I wouldn't know, though. I haven't looked into that. Nikola, however, may be able to do that. You'd have to talk with him, though.

Just an uninteresting person that plays video games for your falsified amusement.

By personal experience before/after Nikola´s mod I would recommend going for MIDTECH factories as they only a need a minimum of 50 (FIFTY) workers to labor (Lowtech on Nikola´s mod requires 700 workers. The original value was 300)... Grow your population like 80% of low wealth, 20% mid wealth, plop a college and develop MIDTECH Industry ONLY (don´t go for High tech as these facilities need something like 200 workers minimum to labor). Comercial buildings require a considerable  amount of workers as well, so if you don´t go for Midtech factories you´ll end up in that "loop" you mentioned (wich I totally know what you mean and agree).

My main goal since GAME RELEASE was to be able to have an Industrial city providing freight to all neighboors... until Nikola´s mod (I only use the Industrial mod, not R+C) I wasn´t able to achieve that - I always ended up with commerce complaining about freight and having to place some industrial activity (wich sucked if I was making like a Tourism city). Anyway, try as mentioned above and please report back... I would really like to know if that works for you as well :)

Be well,

I agree with the OP - I'd like to see something just churn out freight.  Might not be per the simulation intention, but I want to do more than smother my cities in factories, mid-tech or otherwise.

Xor, the thing with Nikola´s mod is exactly to avoid having big Industrial zoning, being inside the Industrial city or any other neighbooring city. If I recall correctly, my Industrial hub (producing 22.120 freight) has 8 or 10 (max) high density midtech factories - these are producing more than enough to 3 adjacent cities. Therefore all others have ZERO Industrial and Comercial is forever happy with freight (goods) and taxes at 8%. Note that this Industrial hub is homing more than 700.000 (low wealthers and mid wealthers) and Comercial - you sure need some space to acomplish this :)

I´m using BoC as well in order to push public services outside boundaries :)
