Project Orion Ground Pollution bug?

I know I've read that the ground pollution map is broke with the 3k mod, but it doesn't affect the actual ground pollution - however in my city, I have ground pollution staining the ground hundreds of meters away from my industrial zone.

I originally thought it was just the map, but all of my my med/high wealth homes in that area are complaining that the area is unhealthy and have left, this happens in the exact area that the map says ground pollution exists.  You can even see the stain in the ground.  This is almost funny as I have nothing nut trees parks and med/high wealth homes in that area.  The industrial area is almost half way across the map.

I removed the 3k mod, and the ground pollution still exists, however it is now shrinking in size over time and re-appearing in the industrial zone where it should be.  Is this a known issue with Orion and is there a work around?

Thanks

A lot of data maps are bugged in Orion. If I were you, just wait for Cities-Skylines to come out for much bigger maps (36K!!!)

1:4 and 4:1 compression map is the easiest way to look at it

visualize the data layer map as a LOCKED map at 100% .. anything going on in the game outside the normal box has to be represented.

Its compressed 4:1 into that visual data map. .. now opposite is true for resources.. you can find them externally decompressed 1:4 in the same location.

I think of the data layer map as a MINI MAP of the data ..

forget what is directly on top of it visually.

Actually, if you haven't looked at the mod page for Project Orion in a while you should look at it again. It seems the modder updated the page with some explanations of the various overlay issues and explains how to understand the distortions. In my humble opinion it just isn't worth the headache. It's a great idea, but in practice it's just too problematic to build working cities with. Again, in my opinion, if you want to use the extended maps you should just build a plop city, meaning it doesn't actually simulate, it's just for looks. There is a mod which lets you plop all the buildings, you can use that to build your city how you want, it just won't work.

And yes, can't wait for the new Cities Skyline, I just wish it was coming out sooner... Next year is still many months away :(
