BAT Nightlighting Issue

So I recently noticed that none of the BATs in my game light up at night, even though I was sure I installed the specific patch to enable nightlighting. So, I downloaded the patch again, but when I ran the installer, it said it installed it, but none of my Simcity .dat files were updated, and the buildings still don't light up.

Any ideas on what went wrong, and what to do from here? Thanks.

Be aware that these patches do not stand alone.  From the disk installation, you need EP1 first then then the patch for night lights.

You can check to see if the patches took.

Use windows explorer to find the executable (SimCity 4.exe) and check its version (right click).

610 U.S. version unpatched

613 International version unpatched

638 EP1 applied

640 EP2 + BAT nightlights patch

641 Official download (no patches needed)

    Wow, thanks Borg! Turns out I just hadn't downloaded the BAT update. I feel dumb now. :P Now let's just hope I can install the HT fix without any troubles! Haha

    I have a similar problem and I have tried to update my EP1 and BAT, in that order, but every time I try to update, the files don't seem to be modified. The EP1 update says it was successful, but when I check the modification date, it still says 2003, not 2014. I made sure I used the one for North America and I followed all the instructions I found associated with the update. Any suggestions?

    First of all, could you check and report your game's build version? This can be found by hovering over your SimCity 4.exe file.

    Versions:

    1.1.610.0 = North American unpatched game

    1.1.613.0 = European unpatched game

    -----------------------------------------------

    1.1.638.0 = EP1 patch installed

    1.1.640.0 = EP1 + BAT nightlights patch installed

    1.1.641.0 = Digital game, includes all patches (not applicable if you have the CD edition).

    Bear in mind when updating the game, the timestamps of all modified files will be fixed. This means they won't show your system's current date & time, but the times when the patches were created (2003-2004).

    And if you successfully apply either patch, your game will be reset to default settings.
