Tamarin Island Bridge Bug

First, a little backstory...

Tamarin Island is my trade cash cow. I've built up a trade empire where, even though the city is at -§70k p/h, the exporting of computers is still raking in §4m per day. At it's peak I had §33m.

I decided to do some rearranging as the heavy pollution was blowing over my city and making people sick; basically moving my consumer electronics from one side of the island to the other. I've also worked to compress the units so the land value isn't too negatively affected.

The problem...

Even though some shipping comes in by sea, it's the delivery trucks that do much of the heavy lifting. It seems they're the ones that import all my alloy and processors. The problem is, they're stuck outside the city borders at the edge of the island's bridge. Traffic travels through them and into the city, there are no traffic problems anywhere, they just sit there on the bridge instead of coming to the city. I can click them, and buses, but they won't budge!

I've tried jumping back and forth between cities, restarting the game, replacing the trade port and adding a trade port in a different location, but nothing shifts these damn trucks off this bridge. With no processors, this city is hemorrhaging money now and I've got about §19m of cushion to try and fix this.

Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone know how to fix it? Is it a known bug?

    Yeah, global market trucks.

I've just dived into the game again to try to scope the problem out better.

    Tamarin Island:

As the name suggests, it's an island. It's basically a rough-shaped square where your city includes two of the shores. One shore is out-of-bounds, and the final shore includes a bridge to the mainland. The bridge comes into the island and hits a highway T-junction (outside your city borders). The highway then sends this into your city at either end of that edge (your city has two entry points).

The problem seems to be that no-one wants to come off the bridge and take the right-hand branch into the city. Traffic has backed up as far as I can see, and when I look in the trade option I can see that some of this traffic are my trucks. They're not pinned in by other traffic, they're simply unwilling to make that turn!

I've encountered something similar to that months ago when I first started to try to evolve my cities. Just like yours my city ran fine until I got the idea to move stuff around to make it more compact and efficient. I always thought it was a traffic issue because I had some trucks that wouldn't come back in the city. I deleted the trade port and plopped it again to no avail. I watched all my money slowly disappear. I ended up abandoning the city altogether. I started to try to learn how the supply chain works in Simcity and I have found a few things that make my cities better. Below is link to a pic that shows where I am at on my supply chain evolution right now. Whenever I build processor factories, I always build two sea going trade ports. One that only exports, and one that only imports. I never try to make one trade port do both. It will not work. In my experience, it might for a short while but it will break soon and you will be screwed.

My trade port that exports has 2 lots for processors, I am ok with that. My trade port that imports has 3 lots for alloy and 3 lots for plastic. For my city it works fine with no problems. You can also force your trade ports to use boats by deleting all the trucks that come with it. I only have 3 processor factories but I imagine you could scale this up too. I have another city that has 5 processor factories with the same amount of importing and exporting set up.

My biggest problem for me was really terrible traffic on that island because of the way the highway comes into the town. I got it down to a decent level but I almost gave up on that city because of how bad it was for me when I was building my population up.

    Hopefully this helps you.

Edit: After rereading your post again you state that the trucks don't want to turn right to get into your city. In the last week I have noticed 2 scenarios in two different cities of mine where it seems like traffic doesn't take right of way like you think it should in real life. Recently I tried making a highway juncture to force people to take right of ways so that only people who were turning left or going straight would enter my intersection. What I saw was lots of left turns across traffic and going in circles using the new roads but not a lot of right of ways.
