With the recent UDON mod and Elevated Rail by Oppie, I want to say thanks to the modders for these awesome creations that make this game exciting again.

These mods give me hope that one day Simcity will be like the next gen simcity 4 we all hoped for, either by mods for Simcity 2013, or by showing Maxis what we true Simcity fans need in the next iteration.

I feel like this is only the beginning of the mods to come.

Thanks for all your hardwork!

Well I'm not entirely sure if this thanks was directed towards me, but I appreciate the thank-you either way :) all the modders do is try to make the gameplay of SimCity better.

Con la reciente mod UDON y ferrocarril elevada por Oppie, quiero dar las gracias a los modders para estas creaciones impresionantes que hacen de este emocionante juego nuevo. Estos mods me dan esperanza de que un día Simcity será como la próxima generación de SimCity 4 todos esperábamos para, ya sea por mods para Simcity 2013, o mostrando Maxis lo que los verdaderos fans Simcity necesitan en la próxima iteración. Siento que esto es sólo el comienzo de los mods por venir. Gracias por todo su trabajo duro!

Very good job guys I love that new highway system, just need some bigger maps. Thank you for your time and effort in trying to make this retarded game playable. Great Job, Keep up the good work.

Oppie, Prosckalone, Myself and others started this 11 months ago with many people saying it was not possible it would never happen and could never happen.  But what was started was a creativity.  Please see what everyone has done and find a way to contribute yourself as a community.  2013 left such a bitter taste in the mouths of many on simtrop and around the world and we worked hard across the divides to prove that it wasn't impossible just difficult to invoke change.

 

Its now been done.. you have the blue print to create a new future.  Please run with it..  Please see the opportunities and code that has been shared as a gift from everyone involved and a new future for the game that at this point again is in my eyes just an infant. 

 

If GB (Glassbox) becomes a 2.0 it will be with the wisdom of what was learned and the expectations we all have made now very clear as a result of this one year journey.  But the end of one journey is the beginning of another..   Do not let it die.. Take the torch and carry it yourself :) enjoy the game and lets start to be a community again..

Been following the new features of the last several days, I must say that you and the above mentioned have really nailed the transport side of SC2013- amazing new features. I wonder if there is any chance of larger map sizes, contiguous city tiles, terraforming, custom regions and some kind of program to develop new buildings, flora, textures and so forth? Have you, Oppie and others considered this and is it feasible?

 

If it is then I will start playing this game when all of those features are implemented.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

larger maps is a no..   it requires a glassbox 2.0 upgrade which is beyond modding ability.  I do not see it happening.

 

Any type of terraforming which is something I'm going to release something in a few minutes about is possible within the city limits only..   there are no terrain smoothing outside the city limits since the game only sees it as a basic wire mesh not really terrain to modify and build on.

 

there are ways and tools to tweak anything inside the city.. so that is possible..

 

Oppie is one of the few people whom knew since day one what I was full up to and doing and what my goals were.  We had a mission and we completed it to be honest.  What we need now is more people to get involved in modding and creating content and seeing what has been done and run with it.  changing what exists in the game is easy from a modders standpoint.  Cheats are not what people want they want content.

 

We need more plops, more objects more decorations and it is possible the examples exist that can be used as base lines at this point.. any other code we have we will release so it will not be lost... at least that which we had access to for the community.

 

I Have to say this.. it was never about us as individuals it was always about the community and giving it hope that it was not alone or lost..

sorry second part of your question there is ONE hope we have.. one possible hope called "Enhanced Clusters 2.0" .. 7 cities and 1 GW working as one mega city.. However again it requires fundamental changes to the core and we are not sure it will happen.

 

but its possible..

 

we are locked out of huge sections of code so without some maxis help some aspects are completely NOT possible for us or even the developers without access to the core itself.

How about expanding on BOC with zoning outside or a way to plop RCI buildings out side? Any chance that could go anywhere? I seen it mentioned a few times on these forums so thought id ask.

BOC works on broken terrain.. there is no smoothing..

 

making it functional property or real estate has been something that has eluded proc for months and months..

 

it works for paths / pipes roads even the new udons would work if coded right but it would never look right and only function partially

 

now BOC methodology would be useful for closer cluster enhancement 2.0 to fill in space between tight placed cities and to create connections between each city in a cluster using the new udons

 

but again.. we need some maxis help to make fundamental changes.. how much is unknown at this point
