Flooding in states after storms.

Not only twisters, but lots of rain leading to flooding.  Especially bad if the winter's frost is not out of the ground yet.

There was a twister that touched down about fifty miles away from where I live :) but that's not the point of this thread.

I got flooding problems to deal with as well. A river/stream runs through my backyard, and it's about ready to unleash water on my grass.

My condolences to anyone who has to deal with this mess.

In any place where the ground remains frozen after the winter, heavy spring rains are tantamount to flooding as the land cannot absorb the water.  The world is out of joint.

All that rain worked its way through this neck of the woods yesterday/last night. Dumped more than 3 inches in some areas. This morning a couple rail lines were out of service, one due to flooding, the other due to a mudslide. And a part of the Bronx River Parkway became simply part of the Bronx River.

Not much wind, though, so no crazy problems with fallen trees and blackouts and all that. Just a lot of water.

A pessimistic attitude.  For all the weather problems, I look forward to bright, sunny days and nice evenings.

Weather has a parallel to the laws of thermodynamics:

    1. You can't win.
    2. You can't break even.
    3. You can't get out of the game.
