Hello everyone. With the recent total downtime of SimTropolis the last couple of days, I've decided to put up a website for DatGen. I've registered a new domain name, www.datgen.info, which should be available in a couple days.

This new site will be DatGen's new home, as well as a repository for all the modding knowledge currently stored here on the site. SimTropolis should remain the primary location for modding and discovery, but DatGen.info will provide a backup site in case SimTropolis ever goes down again, either permanently or for extended periods of time like it did recently. Karybdis and myself, and hopefully other members of the mod squad, will be working on duplicating the knowledge currently stored here on SimTropolis over at the DatGen.info site over the next few months, hopefully in a cleaner, more organized manner.

The DatGen.info site will also be the home of modding information external to SC4, starting with The Sims 2 modding. Eventually DatGen.info will become a central repository where anyone modding any game that uses the DBPF file format can go to get the information they need. DatGen's libraries, programs, plugins, and code will also be housed here for those who wish to learn the plugin API and write plugins for new games. Documentation, tutorials, and other DatGen related help will also be stored here.

The site is not fully written yet, and it will be a couple more days until the DatGen.info domain is available, but keey your eyes peeled.

The DatGen.Info site is up and running. Its still being developed, and most sections of the site are not yet written. You can read the about page for DatGen, and access downloads through the downloads page. More sections of the site will be added soon, as well as some simple forums for basic discussion.

For me at least, the website was totally down middle of last week.  I'm glad it's back up and running.

I'm having trouble tweeking a lot file I made. Easy Tweeker won't recognize it to tweek it. Can someone help with this matter?

well now that is an excellent idea making a web site totally for

the datgen can't wait to view it and all the new modding info you

plan to add.
