Haven't been able to access it for two days from two different locations (both that I've used to post from).  However, if I activate my VPN I can access it.  Seems to be some sort of IP ban or block?  Although I can log into my account with the vpn and it's in good standing.  Not sure what the heck is going on.

Wasn't there a (confirmed?) rumor that some hackers attacked the forum? This is the same thing that happened a few weeks or months ago. That's my best bet other than "I'm banned" on their forum.

I haven't been able to get on the site for the past several days. But when I check isitdownightnow.com it says the site is up and running. I don't get it.

It hasn't been down at all.  Like I said, I can access it with my VPN active or from my phone on 4g.  They have obviously blocked a range of IP addresses for some reason and that's why some people can't get on.  If you can't get on, your likely part of the block.  Find a way to reach it from another IP and you'll see it's working just fine.  I, however, haven't been able to find a local IP through Mediacom that has worked.  Must be a pretty large range that Mediacom uses here that is blocked.

I'm viewing the forums right now in my other Fire Fox tab on my Mac.

 

They maybe temporarily blocked by your ISP due to the Simcity forums experiencing recent attacks and issues.

 

It's most likely your ISP is blocking you (EA would just ban your account, not your IP).

Ok I just managed to access awhile ago on another computer with a different ISP thing. And they have this posted up on top of their forum and softly blinking I might say.

 

We are currently experiencing issues with login and registration across the EA Forums. We are aware of this issue and are working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and will make an update when the issue is resolved.

So I guess everyones hunches here on why we couldn't access it are probably right. Hopefully things will get better there soon.

 

Afaik I can access my account there with my phone logged in using the ISP that I tested with that other computer. Pressing the Log In or Register button there don't work btw.

Im having the same problem at my office. At my office I can't seem to connect to the site. I thought maybe our IT guy banned it since I was spending so much time on it, but now I am thinking it something else entirely. At home and on my phone I can access it no problem, it just seems at the office it won't connect. It's a bit refreshing to know I didn't get caught lol.

Do we have any idea what is going on? It's really strange, I haven't been able to connect from the office all week. If this is happening to multipe people it's gotta be something... I ran a traceroute on ea.com and also forum.ea.com. I can get to ea.com no problem, its only forum.ea.com that I can not seem to connect to. However the traceroutes didn't return anything helpful, form the results everything looks normal. The ip for the domain is 98.129.150.220, which I can ping also, but not go to in my browsers... what is the deal?

Hey guys I thought I would update this post and let you all know it looks like access whatever was preventing me from accessing the forum from the site is now gone. I am able to get there no problems now.
