Game Exits When Map Opens After Installing Terrain Mod.

I installed the Appalachian Terrain Mod (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2753) along with the dependency. Now when I load a map, the game exits before it opens into God Mode. Any idea why this happens?

The game crashes because you are running simcity in software rendering.

All HD terrain,water,rock mods require hardware rendering to work, without it the game will always crash...

go to display settings and change rendering to hardware and then restart the game.It should work now.

Yeah, you are presumably using Software mode to use the terrain mod. All HD terrain mods need Hardware mod, or else, it will crash.

I checked and it's in hardware rendering mode, but it still crashes. What else could it be?

Try opening using a new region and an empty plugin folder (except for the terrain mod and it's dependencies).  If that works, then you have a plugin conflict somewhere in your plugin folder (Most likely some other terrain/rock/beach mod).

Are you sure you have removed anything in your plugins folder, but the terrain mod itself?

There are two plugin folders.  The only thing in C:\<your account>\Program Files ...\SimCity 4\Plugins should be the four sky textures.  Anything else should be moved to the user data area at C:\<your account>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins.  The Program Files area is propagated to all accounts on the machine.
