Well I know that Tropod made a discovery and made the bridges not rely on their own Maxis Models anymore and can contain new models BATted by someone so yes, custom ones are possible.

cool. Also, couldnt you make a model thats two portals below grade for the beginning of the bridge and invisble where the rest of it is, and pass it off as a underwater tunne? The cars would have to dissappear somehow and not keep on driving over the water though.

You can make models so it looks like their is an underwater tunnel under it but you can't get cars to go thru it.

There are much easier ways to make underwater tunnels, HamsterTK.. I'd say that your idea for creating a tunnel is a lot of work, whereas the other way of creating tunnels takes some skill, but eventually works out perfectly..

Try to dig a hole in the ground on one side of the water and at approximately the same location on the other side of the river. Raise the ground in the water between those two points and you'll be able to drag a tunnel between them. Once the tunnel is formed, you can lower the section of land you've raised in the water and it'll seem as though the tunnel goes underwater. Traffic can still go right through it and it works just as good as a bridge..

Hope that helped.. If you already knew this, that forgive me for stating the obvious.. 9.gif

Oh no! It's not finished! It's still a work in progress, currently i'm reworking the span so it no longer juts out from the towers. It'll be done sooner than later, the only drawback that i'll have to find a way around is, niteliteing. I'll get around that... somehow. Thanks for featuring it though.

Underwater tunnels have drawbacks, sometimes the car lights show going across the water.  I made one and drove a UDI Steam Train through it and there were boxes floating across the water.

I like 6underground's bridge. Although what I would really like is Tower Bridge, London. Any chance of seeing 6underground's bridge on the STEX? Because we would all benefit from this development.

'Buddybud' has some overhang lots using custom bridges. They are made for sunken transit networks. Search his name in the STEX to find them.

Custom bridges are not very hard to understand but hard to be done. You have to create models for every 1x1 tile what may possibly be occupied. Because that's a long time of work, it is not interesting many people.

The NAM puzzle pieces are usable for construction of underwater bridges. This is lighter on your coffers. (I have tried it and it works in UDI)

    To build an underwater bridge:

    - On a new city, enter the cheatcode setSeaLevel 0! The water disappears.

    - build somewhere a bridge beyond the usual water level!

    - save the city and open it again! The water level is as usual and the bridge somewhere under water.

Does anybody have a link as to how you create a custom bridge? Can I make it ploppable? I was thinking of making a bridge from Portland, after all we got like eight bridges here. I can BAT, but I dont know the process to get a bridge in the game.

    I love coffee and buildings.
