Screen off center

So I looked for this and found another topic. The topic said to change manually the executable command but I can't do that since I run SC4 from Origin. There's no executable file for the game.

The game is not centered, I can't see the left side of the game and on the right side there's a big black bar. I already tried all the resolutions there are in the game and it's still the same.

What can I do?

PS: I opened another topic because the other one is archived and I could'nt reply on it. And the answer does not help my case.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, I tried getting a printscreen but it showed the complete screen... only my monitor disagrees.

By the way, I had THIS particular problem from my desktop PC, but it works perfectly fin from my laptop.

Other thing, I do play it from Origin but I found the executable file, not in a maxis folder but on the origin folder. So, that was my mistake hehe.

Working properly on laptop, still no luck on PC.

Not sure if there's a way to add parameters directly through Origin. So instead, try creating a shortcut to the SimCity 4.exe file, used to start the game (Right click > Create Shortcut). Place it anywhere that suits, such as your desktop. Before continuing, as it's an Origin game, check to see that SC4 runs using this shortcut.

Then any parameters can be added to the "Target" box. Remember to add a single space after the address. I suggest running the game using a custom resolution by adding:

    -CustomResolution:enabled -rWIDTHxHEIGHTx32

Replace WIDTH and HEIGHT with the resolution of your monitor.

Apparently, this page [Link] provides a list of the supported resolutions that can be used.

Thank you Cyclone, I already did that and the screen is now centered, BUT, it is now streched vertically!!! And the resolution I put on the parameters are my screen resolution.

How can I have it normal again? (the game I first downloaded was NOT original, I just bought this yesterday and now I doesn't work properly). My luck.

That doesn't look stretched to me.  I think you've just been looking at it squashed this whole time.   ;)

My face looks like your avatar right now. Could it be?... I've been living a lie.

Yes, widescreen 16:9 or 16:10 resolutions will appear more horizontally stretched than the standard 4:3 ones. I'm sure you'll soon get used to it after a while.
