Problem in update

I have older version of sim city 4 ( I guess the first version) ...my query is that do i have to update my game to delux edition or i can directly update it to rush hour..

Hi there,

The Deluxe Edition is the same as the original game with Rush Hour added on. So if you already have Rush Hour, you can simply install it as well. After this, you'll need to apply the EP1 patch (see my signature link below).

You didn't understood the problem I have the first version of sim city 4 that came before deluxe edition ...and now I am finding problem in updating it.Please help me..

If you have the original SimCity 4, the Rush Hour Expansion will update your game to the same level as if you had SimCity 4 Deluxe. In other words:

 

SimCity 4 + Rush Hour = Simcity 4 Deluxe

 

If you have SimCity 4 and get SimCity 4 Deluxe, you'll have what you need (after applying the game patches). You do not need Rush Hour if you get Deluxe.

 

If you are asking if there is there a download patch that updates SimCity 4 to Rush Hour, then no. there is no game patch that does that.

 

If you only have the original SimCity 4, you would need to get the Rush Hour expansion (which may be hard to find) or SimCity 4 Deluxe (which would probably be easier), not both.

 

If this doesn't help answer your question, please tell us specifically what you are trying to do when you say you are "finding a problem in updating it".

It will probably be easier to find the full Deluxe edition for sale.  If you do find the Rush Hour expansion pack, obviously just go for whichever is cheaper.  Don't forget to apply both patches, as Captain City mentioned.

Alternatively, it might be cheaper to acquire the digital download version of deluxe from Amazon, Gamersgate, Steam or (yucch!) Origin.  This version is fully updated and needs no CD in the optical drive.  It is version 1,1,641 and can use all published custom content.  If you watch these on-line sites they often have a sale and you might get it for as little as $5. U.S.
