Amazing map of our Capital's subway system Benedict!

I have an updated version of the commuter train system S-Tog

Version II:

-Line F added

-Renamed Venstre station to Turens Tårn

-Renamed line C to E and Cx to C

-New stations build on the new line C: Olypmiaparken and Bergens Tårn to finish the loop

-New stations Østredal and Kassel at the end of line B

-Updated logo

Note: the gray lines are the boundaries between the city (Stalpen) and the suburbs (Forsted)

This is the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) isn't it?

We have a very speedy winner!

One day, BART may actually encircle the Bay Area. In the meantime, this is what it looks like as a radial diagram:

Next I'll have to think of something harder...

That's bart?!?! I never knew it went to the south bay (checks) well I guess that's why its not in the south. And probably won't finish because of VTA.

Shudonese freeway system. With the new map (not the older one I had)

Hi, forthwall. What I find fascinating about creating these radial maps, even for systems without any form of circle line, is how they challenge your perception of geography. Of course, many subway maps challenge that anyway, because they are almost always distorted.

Great freeway map. Do you have a numbering system? I like the land outline, too - reminds of New Zealand a tiny bit.

OK, I've had a few of these lined up to test the audience.

This one may need some clues. Today's clue is that it is a rail map. Have fun.

Just a guess, but the German ICE network, perhaps?

Don't think so, ICE is too expansive.

I don't think I could even start to make something like Germany's ICE network.

Here's today's clue - I've added in the red line.

It looks a bit like the Frankfurt S-bahn at first glance, but now it dosen't seem like it.

Yup, although I haven't made any plaques yet, red would be National Routes, and green, Regional Routes.

This map has been on hiatus for a while, its a topography+freeway/city map. Its a bit different than the freeway map because this is newer, and adjusted with geography.

@ Forthwall - that is just stunning. Really amazing piece of map work.

It looks a bit like the Frankfurt S-bahn at first glance, but now it dosen't seem like it.

Today's clues: It is not a map of an S-bahn, and I've added another line.

Is it the London Underground?

For my own post I have my first map using Inkscape, which I discovered quite literally only an hour ago. So be gentle when commenting on my contribution.

No, I haven't developed a map key to help you distinguish the various points of reference. Like I said this is my first map. I'm still working on the legend and appropriate symbols for what will eventually be a fairly substantial undertaking.

It's not the London Underground.

Nice first map!

So here's what we know about the mystery map...

  • Rail map (not a metro/subway/underground system)
  • Not German ICE or an S-bahn

One more line added today:

Hmmm I can't think of any off the top of my head. I don't think it's the Amtrak, since that has dozens of lines.

Anyways, here's a new map from me: The UCCRL v10 Map, all redone London Underground style:

@ nathanthemayor  Another nice version of your map. The new lines look interesting - I was wondering if the new G-Line could take over a branch of the green or blue lines to simplify the running of either one? And you are correct, it isn't amtrak.

So here's what we know about the mystery map...

London Overground?

I don't think so. And there is already a circular Overground Map on Wikipedia:

London_Overground_as_a_circle.svg

I am beginning to think that this is some part of the British National Rail, though.

@ devilreborn and roflyoshi : It's not the Overground, or any UK rail system. And I didn't draw that version of the Overground :)

So here's what we know about the mystery map...

  • Rail map (not a metro/subway/underground system)
  • Not German ICE or an S-bahn

Two more lines added today, and these 6 form one railroad group :

I'd say it's a map of the Brussels tram network, but that's just because I don't know many other complex and large networks :P I know this can't possibly be right, I even doubt if it is possible to make a map like that of the network (it's one of the world's largest - maybe a challenge for you? :P )

Edit: right, it said rail, I forgot that for a short while... You say 'railroad group', does that mean it is a network with several operators/concessions?

@Benedict: You said railroad, so I'm guessing that it's American?
