Its a house that came to my mind. it's going to be in the middle of a garden.

Wow thats how i draw too!  when something pops up, i do a sketch of what i 'see' in my mind's eye and capture it, then  let my mind visualize materials, colors, scenery, etc. Rotunda like a large atrium rounded, like i n your pic.   its almost like a 'commons' area of a bldg or a seating area thats got a round shape, maybe skylights. The whitehouse has a rotunda i believe, it may be internal but normally round shaped room

Its my characters room. its a gazebo bult on the house so the garden surrounds her room. the gazebo is enclosed with large windows.

thats a nice drawing,  And a really nice addition to her room!  Hope she loves it.  it looks like a nice "my-space" area where i would curl up at the window with a nice hot HUGE cup of apple cider and cinnamon and think the day away!

Actually, it appears to be a bay window.  Mary, a rotunda is a circular reception room in a large house.

Building a model for this building using cardboard to get a better idea of how i want to draw this building. i want it at an angel so we can see the gate and cobble sidewalk and chimney...

Nonny yes and no about the bay window.

Bay windows i have seen don't go all the way to the ground on the outside that is. this one does.

I've always liked bay windows.  Great place to put a comfy chair for quiet reading.  {No!  No!  Not the comfy chair!  Ahhh...}

Looks good!  You have the tallent for art  and creations!  I wish i can find old pics of some models Ive built using Balsa wood.  Using a ¼"=1ft conversion scale, i cut the balsa into "8ft" 'beams' and glued together "prefabricated walls with framed windows and doorways .  i assembled the exterior wall-frames together - glued to a foundation ive cut to the shape of the structure.  Eve.tualy the finished product was a scale-model of a house, having mock- insulation between wall beams,  thin ires hidden  inside the walls connected to small flashlite bulbs and a battery.

 

I used to make these all the time that people paid to have a scale - model of  their homes.  Youre getting me into maybe resuming the hobby!

If i had the money it would be wood... but alas cardboard will have to do.

I really LIKE the way the sketch you've made of the room/rotunda/baywindo/nook'esque type thingie (lol) has taken a tangible shape!  it does look good!  Cant wait to see its progress. You MUST take photos of the stages of completion.

 

I hear you, yes, i remember when hobbies didnt cost any more than a tasty candy bar.  These days BOTH can break the bank (lol) ,  I'm sure the materials i used then cost a lot more today.  I did some models once for a CAD company who wanted a scale of some office they were working on designing.  That was a SWEET on-the-side gig.  Man i wish i could find something like that to do.  Still no word on my 'other' situation but still turning wheels to see what comes up.

UPDATE 2.0 this time I got it... Right meausrements which means the rotunda as SimRico calls it now fits with no large gap to try and fix also back wall now fits where the roof is going to be... Windows remeasured as well. Slower cuts using the edge of a ruler NOTE: Dont use plastic rulers unless your not going to reuse them. lol... Hope you guys like the update. another update next week...

yup I have two music box birds and some other ones. I love birds... lol...

 

going to be a house. This house is my characters house in my book I am working on. I decided to build a model of the house so when I try to draw it on paper I will know how to draw it in 3D... I needed a model to look at.... And its kinda fun and keeps me busy when I am not working.
