RE:plot outline

Yes I wrote one years ago when I started the book. its kinda scattered around a journal book. I even have peoms or sings written for it.

originally I didn't plan to do the inside only the outside as a reference on how to draw the 3D version on paper to paint.

however I am considering a more elaborate model in the future.

I do not yet have a solid title for the book. I am sure it will come to me. the pictures or illistrations (spelling)..

was not going to be a part of the book except the cover..

Most outside walls of a building are bearing walls (they hold up the next floor and/or roof).  Sometimes if a building is large enough there are internal bearing walls that support the structure above them.  These have to be tied into pillars in the basement or to the foundation walls.

 

These are things to be concerned with if you own a house.  If you are doing renovations, removing a bearing wall is a very expensive operation.  The wall has to be replaced by a beam that has the same function, and it must properly span the area.  If it is not strong enough, then pillars have to be added.

 

Some of the neatest tricks have been used by architects to hold buildings up.  For example, there is a huge chain around the inside of the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral in London, England that supports the dome by lending strength to its bearing walls.  If it wasn't there, the dome would collapse.  This chain is internal and can't be seen unless you open the walls.  This is an exercise in statics (Physics).  You always hope it doesn't become an exercise in dynamics (the other branch of Physics).

Well finally I think I may be getting somewhere. I did figure out the front and back wall and the middle wall. the only thing ill need to figure out is the windows on the front of the house and the front door.

i think I should be able to start my next drawing soon. i think after all the work i have done i have enough information to start the drawing.

i will try to post some pictures tomorrow if i can get this blasted phone to behave long enough..

Looks just like balsa!  This is NICE! Really.  Dont you get a kick out of consructing it just like it as if its an acutal building project?  I really like wall framing and the sheetrock !!!!

Yes, The Mayo Inst. is planning another exhibit with all these new pieces being released!

Lol, how are you feeling? You work night shift? Oh man i remember working 7pm to 7am seven days on and seven days off. The seven days off were fun...

Will you be able to take it a little easy tonite and hold up strength to get to the docs on Mon?

I work 6:30-11 tonight and be back to work for 8 hour shift in the morning. and another 8 hour shift sun.

Balsa is a very light wood often used for modelling.  Available at most hobby stores in sheets and bars.

Wheres my brain? Sorry i thought i included balsa wood in thst last post. Sorry i missed explaining that. I use balsa because its easy to cut, sturdy when built as frames yet soft when just a single strip - and glues quickly . i use superglue instead of elmers. Its fastest.

The glue is irrelevant.  Be careful with balsa, it is very easy to break.  In my day, model aircraft airframes were built of it because it is so light.

Hey there!  Yes i will bemore than happy tomake the animated compilation.    Do this:   be sure to take a snapshot at each progress-small or great!  And post here in the MAYO ART GALLERY!  and i will download and put the clup together. It would be neat to pick a view angle you want to take the snapshot from the same spot each te so the structure looms like its standing still hit is bilding up.   Of course, if you have to take a different angleshot, do so, it will stull look ok.
