Sim City 4 Patch

I downloaded the Sim City 4 Update - 1.1.638.0 patch from BSC Exchange as prompted by the NAM installation exe.

 

But my antivirus is flagging it as having malware in it. I had to put it in the antivirus exclusions to install it. 

Is the install file really ok (as some AV's flag false virus's), or has the official download been corrupted? I can't install most of the major mods without it, but don't want to infect my computer.

 

Would appreciate some advice thatnks.

The update from SC4D is perfectly fine - I've used that patch without any problems, and I'm sure thousands of other SC4 players have too.  I'm guessing your antivirus is a little jumpy and giving a false positive flag.

All the files on the Simtropolis, SC4Devotion, and SimPeg websites should be perfectly safe.  If any problems do come up, they are always quickly reported and taken care of--but that would of course only apply to very recently uploaded files.

 

Anti-virus programs can sometimes give false positives.
