Need Players for an Upcoming Sandbox Region

In the next week or so, I'll be starting a private region in Reflection Atoll (7 cities, 1 great work). I'm looking for those who would like to engage in cooperative play with specialized cities. We will be playing on the North America East 2 server. If you're interested, leave the following information: (1) Origin ID, (2) claimed city. I, myself, will be claiming Grand Haven. Those who are new to SimCity are more than welcome as this will be a SANDBOX region with each city starting out with a maximum of $4M. Each city will be responsible for its own water supply and sewage treatment (it is recommended that you place a Water Pumping Station with filtration pumps next to a Sewage Treatment Plant to maximize water by cleaning/reusing sewage). Each city will be responsible for a Fire Station, a Clinic, and a Police Station at minimum (select cities will feature larger facilities). For the most part, I'll leave mass transit up to your choosing except where noted (all 7 cities are connected by road, rail, and water).

 

The breakdown of cities will be as follows:

 

TRADER'S RIDGE. Specialization: Trading. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Transportation), Grade School, Garbage Dump, Recycling Center, Trade HQ (all divisions), Trade Port, Trade Depot. Focus, aside from specialty, should be low wealth residential, commercial, and industry. Use of available natural resources can be used for providing power to own city and other cities in region. May end up being a dirty city.

 

PETROL BAY. Specialization: Drilling. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Safety), High School, Grade School, Large Fire Station (Hazmat Garage), Hospital (Emergency Center, Surgical Center), Petroleum HQ (Refining Division), Trade Port and/or Trade Depot. Focus, aside from specialty, should be low/medium wealth residential, commercial, and industry. Use of available natural resources can be used for providing power to own city and other cities in region. May end up being a dirty city.

 

CINDER. Specialization: Coal Mining. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Utilities), Community College, Grade School, Garbage Dump (if needed), Large Fire Station (Hazmat Garage), Hospital (Emergency Center, Surgical Center), Metals HQ (Engineering Division), Trade Port and/or Trade Depot. Focus, aside from specialty, should be low/medium wealth residential, commercial, and industry. Use of available natural resources can be used for providing power to own city and other cities in region. May end up being a dirty city.

 

GRAND HAVEN. Specialization: Education. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Education), University (Engineering, Law, Medicine), High School, Grade School. Focus should be low/medium/high wealth residential and commercial, very little industry. Will eventually build Nuclear Power Plant to cover regional power. May take on water and/or sewage for region.

 

SUMMIT VISTA. Specialization: Electronics. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Finance), University (Science, Business), Grade School, Garbage Dump, Large Fire Station, Electronics HQ (Consumer Electronics Division), Trade Port and/or Trade Depot. Focus, aside from specialty, should be medium/high wealth residential, commercial, and industry. May take on water and/or sewage for region.

 

INGOT LANDING. Specialization: Ore Mining. Mandatory City Features: City Hall, Community College, Grade School, Large Fire Station (Hazmat Garage), Hospital (Emergency Center, Surgical Center), Metals HQ (Smelting Division). Focus, aside from specialty, should be low/medium wealth residential, commercial, and industry. Use of available natural resources can be used for providing power to own city and other cities in region. May end up being a dirty city.

 

SOIREE SANDS. Specialization: Gambling and Culture. Mandatory City Features: City Hall (Tourism), Grade School, Police Precinct (Police Dispatch Tower, Detective Wing, Crime Prevention Center), Gambling HQ (all divisions), a Stadium (your choice), a Landmark (your choice), Bus Terminal, Passenger Train Station, Ferry Terminal (Cruise Ship Dock), Municipal Airport. Focus, aside from specialty, on high density residential and commercial (all wealth levels).

Soiree Sands is a pretty intriguing city plot and gambling/culture cities are always tough to maintain but go for it. I'll add you. I'll be sending out invitations on Sunday night.

All, it is with great regret that I have to inform you all that I will be restarting the region. One of the individuals I invited through another SimCity forum (saajsa) took it upon himself to start the Great Work, something I intended to bring to a vote amongst all of us as mayors in the region. Since there is no option to remove a user from a region, I will just restart. In the restart, the available city will be Summit Vista (previously owned by saajsa). I will extend the invite to djonesiowa (Origin ID: huskyhugger). The new region will be on NORTH AMERICA EAST 2. The breakdown of mayors is as follows:

Petrol Bay - frostphase

Cinder - GEngines

Also, I would like to propose a vote on what the Great Work will be. Since I will eventually hope to provide power for the entire region via a Nuclear Power Plant, we won't need Solar Farm Great Work. However, I do see a need for the Space Center, Arcology, and International Airport in their respective capacities. I invite you all to reply to this post with your choice for the Great Work and the majority will be represented as our Great Work. If it is a tie on the first go around, then we will have a runoff vote.

I wonder what happened to this game. I vote for Solar Farm because apparently the airport doesn't give much advantage than some tourists but the effect is not as much as the solar farm which gives you power almost for free. That would cut down the expenses a lot. Anyways you guys decide.

 

And I accidentally claimed my neighboring city. I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I will abandon it. Lol Sorry.
