I have a trade port with 12 delivery trucks and a rail connection and 30000 crates of computers set to export.   Its been 3 months now and it still has 30000 crates of computers and not a single delivery truck in the entire city and trains coming and going but never stopping.  Any ideas?

I have had a similar issue with the trains just never appearing. It was some what irritating as I had laid out the entire city to take advantage of a segregated alloy production area exporting via rail over a couple of hours of play.

I subsequently rage quit and haven't been back to that particular city since but I don't know if that would kick start the trains?

Can you take a screenshot of the city? Also can you double check that you set it to export? I have thought I set it to export before and it didn't stick :D

I have this bug too, in fact it's the bug that stopped me playing.

Your trucks at the depot DON'T EXPORT. The export trucks spawn from the ether in the region and come to you, usually at specific tipping points when your bays fill up. The train should run on a pseudo timetable and arrive from time to time. In the trade map try to angle the map to see as much of the region as possible. The train should be out there somewhere, and be shown with the little trade decal above it moving around in the distance.

If you can, depends on the map obviously, add a seaport to the trade port. The ships will give you another shot at export. With me, in each case, city has bankrupted as all of the specialisms back up and cannot export, and there is too much capital tied up in them to allow a sensible alternative.

A note on trucks at trade ports/depots:

Your 12 trucks are to delver FROM the Trade Port TO LOCAL USE such as coal to a coal power plant, or oil to a refinery. If all you are doing is exporting from the port you don't need any trucks. You will if (for example) you are importing processors to go into your TVs, the trucks will deliver those for you to the electronics factory/

Maybe the truck drivers are French... They always like to go on strike about this time of year....

The possibillity of a strike is there, also vacation time is here, maybe they all are in Mexico sipping Margaritas? But all in all, it is bad news for my arceologi.

Same thing happened to me. I agree that a screen shot would help.

Can I ask one question here.... how do you connect rail to trade ports?

Firstly trade depots cannot connect to rail, only the more advanced trade ports (just in case). In their case, there is a rail access building you can add to the port in building edit mode (where you add storage bays), and it can only be placed a certain distance from the building as well as must be along the rail, so the rail must be close enough.

Blue = Trade Port

Red = Rail connection

It could go a little further from the Port, but probably not much.

Id post a screenshot of your city... my best guess is that your using trade depots (hence no rail connections) and that you have local or reginal traffic problems...

Have you checked that you have the trade depot lots on EXPORT???

Ok so I was also having this bug but  I was able to get trade to start moving again. I had 1 trade depot and 1 advanced depot with tracks. What I did was add another trade depot and add 3 random storage units to it.  Trade stopping has happened twice on the same city and twice I was able to get trade moving again by adding another trade depot.  Both times the bug seemed to happen when I removed the freight storage units from the depots.
