Good afternoon everyone (UK time anyway),

I have just ordered my new rig to be delivered next week and i have purchased Sim City 2013, of which besides the negativity i am seriously excited for.

I have been looking on Simtropolis for ideas and inspiration for a few weeks and have noticed the quietness of the Sim City 2013 forums!

Before i can start my world, I'm looking for cool inspirations for my city (not at all to copy, just to gage what is possible), and would like to see some pictures of your cites from the ground up.

Also if you have a region i would love to join, if you would like to provide your Origin name.

Thanks,

Luke

I generally have a plan at the start and try to build a city that will achieve that... For example..... build a specialised city, generating maximum profit possible with lowest population possible. There are so many ways to play...pick what you want and stick to it.... you can still build small mining towns or large ish high density cities...............

I think the biggest argument atm is that the game can be quite easy at times, depending on what goals you set yourself.....where you could spend many many hours perfecting your perfect cities on SC4 you can achieve what you want in an hour or so on SC2013....

I paid around £700 minus the monitor, as i already have that.

There are more reasonable PC builds there i5's for £500/£550.

    Think its an okay deal?

GPU is low end. GTX 650Ti / HD7770 and upwards is recommended for a more balanced rig.

There are regional performance issues that will hurt you if you are not aware of them.  I suggest looking around here, EA Answers, and even reddit (if you can filter out the negativity.)  I have spent a lot of time working on trading and electronic specialization, see how far up the leaderboards I can get.  Stay away from tourism and Great Works for the moment.  They slow the system or don't work as intended yet.  I am running a couple of different regions privately to work on technique in anticipation of future updates that will address the issues that prevent ideal development.  If you keep the limitations in mind the game can be entertaining, as odd as that sounds.

Yeah i have been looking around, and as you said i have found it difficult looking through the negativity.

But im still excited to give it ago, i did used to love sim city (still debating whether to buy SC4). I have been away from PC gaming for years and with the 'next-gen' new I'm trying to head slowly back into PC gaming.

    But thanks for you help

Circular Cities!!!  I love to make them and they handle traffic wonderfully.
