Hello!

In my city I have almost 1k unfilled jobs, but there are a lot of unsatisfied shoppers, so if I make more commercial, the number of jobs still increasing. Any idea? Build more industrial?

Building more industrial just creates more jobs.

There are simply always unfilled jobs in SimCity, because buildings have a minimal and a normal operational number of jobs.

You can have all the buildings in your city at minimal operation jobs that are filled and the difference up to normal will be the number of unfilled jobs that you see in the population table.

As long as no buildings have a flashing people signe above them your city has just enough workers. As for specialization buildings you can always see or even click and it will tell you if it lacks workers by any chance.

Anyone know how to tell what wealth level of workers a specialty building needs?  I click on my smelter and it does not seem to give me any indication of what it needs worker wise when it is complaining.

The invention of beer and the wheel were the foundation of modern civilization & together were the catalyst that split humanity into two distinct subgroups: liberals & conservatives. Some men spent their days tracking & killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. These men were called "conservatives". Other men who were weaker & less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's & doing the sewing, fetching & hair dressing. They were called "progressives".

I am sure I saw someone making a list of jobs per buildings. It was maybe even on this forum. Try googling it.

Excellent advise however what I'm trying to figure out is if there is any way to figure out (in game) what the worker demand is for any given building.

I wish I only had 1k unfilled jobs, that's one tough thing to do when building a multi-core city as I do. Typically I have about three business districts in my cities, therefore I keep about 8k jobs unfilled at all times.
