Hi

Been playing a couple cities for some time now. Both have Coal Mines. In one of my cities the Coal Mines have the storage at Max. Seems no Trucks are leaving the Mine with coal, even though the trade depot have plenty of space available?

Never seen this before, and it really shuts down the industry.

Tried replacing the trucks at the mine, and that cleared the problem, or so I thought. Cause the trucks only leave once, and that's it. Then it just starts again.

Anyone know of a Bug/error causing this problem?

I have the same issue not only with coal but ore mines too. I have like 1 advanced coal mine and around 6-7 ore mine and all of them are full. I built the maximum number of garages and I have plenty of free space in my storage sites. Also the smelter is asking for coal or ore or both. Somehow trucks don't work, like they are on strike. I suspected congestion at the entrance of my city but I realized mine trucks don't leave the city so I looked for them but they are nowhere in the city.

Related problem is that supply from partially filled storage sites is lagging behind demand from my single smelter.

I have a complete infrastructure for mining and smeltering and my city is tending to go bunkrupt.

Any ideas?

@Mayor Winston: How many sims live in your town? Because in my city these problems came with population, when I had around 30,000 it worked well but the mines cried for labour force, now that I have 121,000 they have the workers but the trucks don't do their job, they are not even on the roads.

yep trucks possibly stuck in traffic, advanced coal mine pumps out coal quicker than 5 trucks can deliver. This is why we need the railway to start functioning properly if trains came as regularly as the freight ship came than it would be fine. But the trains are bugged as well. I also just saw today that all commodity prices have dropped significantly this hurts industrial cities even more.

    Hi Bokrif

My city is at a size of around 50.000. I did a major overhaul of the city, but it's on it's way up again.

I have no Idea how to solve this. Seems like it's yet another bug. And a pretty big one if you have your city centeret around mining.

Well it must be that trucks are stuck in traffic, but my trucks go from mine to smelter and there is no impossible traffic between these two. And if I look the different map modes it doesn't actually show the supposedly stuck trucks, like they didn't even started from the garages at the mine.

So if there is no trucks than it is not about traffic...

that is strange so you look at the trading screen and no trucks are moving around your city? I haven't had this problem

I will double check, but no trucks from mines are moving around, the storages are full at the mines and the smelter need coal.

The trucks are simply gone from the map. Not stuck anywhere

no trucks moving from mines because storage is full you are having an export issue. Your trade depot trucks are not exporting. This happens to me but mine are stuck in traffic I can see them on the freeway when I look at the trade map. I have have a problem similar to this but with freight trains. I build a freight train depot and the freight trains never come

I had this problem in the past.  I've read other websites, search "simcity trade depot not exporting".

It seems to be an authentic bug.  Based on other forums, it's what happens when you demolish a road with your delivery truck in it.  Or when a disaster occurs like the giant lizard.  The trucks disappear but the game doesn't register them as gone.  They become permanently erased and you can't get them back.  Turning on/off or demolishing involved buildings won't work, in some cases will mitigate the problem further (per other websites).  I tried abandoning and reclaiming the city, that didn't work for me.

That happened to me even with patch 3.0 (at the time).  All my plastic delivery trucks are gone, and I was forced to re-specialize.

Well, my first indication that a bug is causing this was right on. Just when you believe the game is at least playable. Something like this happens, and screws up a whole city.

So there is no solution for this problem, right?

This is a tricky one. A few tips I have found:

    • Generally I have found the local delivery trucks tend to only work 8AM-4PM (versus global delivery trucks can come in or out 24 hours).
    • I always make sure to place trade depot and ports a short distance away, and along low traffic roads,
    • I have noticed the delivery trucks will only drop off a load once every 1-3 days, versus the mine/production facility usually keeps producing for 24 hours.
    • Use a Trade PORT with one storage lot for each resource (once available, until then use multiple Trade Depots) to store the coal/ore and use it locally for the smelting, and/or the oil for the refinery, but also use the same port/depot to export the finished products.

I am not sure if anyone will still see this, but I encountered this same problem and solved it for my city. The trucks from the mine kept driving off the city and vanishing, saying that they were delivering to a storage depot. Never came back.

I noticed that the coal plant in my city, where they actually wanted to go, was very close to the edge of the city. It was on the main entrance to town, 1 or 2 little spaces from the edge of the map.
I destroyed it, moved the coal power plant to a more interior position, though still reasonably close to edge (just not on THE edge.)

After I moved the plant, I replaced my coal mine trucks and the new trucks made delivery to the new plant. The problem has not returned.

There is a coal in the coal zone, but when I put the extraction plant there is no coal in this area.

How Can I Fix This Problem?
