MOD: Street for busses - Ver: 2.0

I DL and tried 1.7 and it does indeed bulldoze, good on that! Luckily to test the other one I just created a tiny stub in the corner of my city to check it so I don't have a huge area unbulldozeable.

 

Now then, a question for you as you seem to be deeper into these files than anyone.

 

Is there a way to limit the types of agents that use a road? Like if I wanted student agents only. Since all the other things are separated like police, fire, etc, it seems to reason that agents have a specific type ID that could be used for agent specific transit.

 

After all, every thing in the game are agents. This would allow a huge slew of optimized transit layouts to shuffle the traffic around.

    well it depends on in what group each group of agents are in. check this post it contains a list of values i think i have identified.

     

    currently the only values that i found that has student agents are two groups namely "pedestrians" and "Cars & Crap".

     

    so to separate out the student agents  i would first need to find the prop containing settings for the student agents...

     

    actually you got me interested i think i'll do that before i need to leave for town

    it doesn't carry trains?

     

    and i have had a look into separate out agents to allow specific types to use it and frankly what i discoverd so far makes it to anoying to do.

     

    what i would need to do is find each and every action the students can do and change the one. 

    By action i mean "taking my parents clunker to school" and some such

    Nevermind it does, I just never tried connect the road to a train track, Sorry about that.

     

    I just watched a station that was connected to the rest of my train with only this road for a full game day, and the trains will not use it. According to the Trains submenu it's part of the network and they should be using it.

    If felgard has no problem, i'll go ahead and include a menu item for his road in my pack to support  the usage of his roads outside the box (you'll still need his mod files etc)

    thanks i'll remove it when im back from visiting me family

     

    anyways since i got no time right now i'll post it here this file 1_firehelth.zip will allow ambulances, fire trucks and sewage to use my street put it in the "SimCityData" folder .

     

    I was kinda rushed when when I finalised this file so if anyone notices any problems please post it here and I'll look into it tommorow

    i haven't really sorted it out i just found a propertyId that specifies what path filter the actions uses.

    i just added it to the ambulances and fire truck prop's and set it to police. there is a small chance that i might missed one action (a total of 20 props for fire and health sewage was a little easier so far i think the only has 1 prop)

     

    anyway copying the simcity script and prefixing it with z shouldn't really cause any thing since the original file should over write it the only thing the copy should do is sit there and be called by the mods that needs it.

     

    did you try more then ones?

    I really like your mod and it's working fine. I already read the main post about vehicules restrictions but, is there a way to allow construction trucks to use this road or are they listed under standard cars?
    This can help for a segregated city, for exemple to access an industrial zone who is not connected to the rest of the city.

    a question to the folks that have used the latest version (advanced 1.9) should i remove the ability to zone along the street i just noticed that cars that arrive and leave the zoned buildings will ghost to the closest street they can drive on

    no worries i was just updating the mod on here when you posted the question and prior to this version that file was not made

    I never place them anywhere that zoning on them would be useful so It doesn't bother me a bit.

    Very cool and useful mods.

    A couple questions: can I plop the train station directly on the Stree for Busses (on the rail side I mean) instead  of heavy rail, or do I need to connect the heavy rail and then connect the rail line to the SfB?  Also, for those who have tried the new version, how well does zoning along the road work?

    I think I must have downloaded some other mod that changes train stations, because mine now snap to the road- instead of the rail- and I have to manually route the rail through it.  However, I tried it and can route the SfB road directly through the train station, so that I don't have to lay rail at all, and all other SfB traffic can pass right through the train station.

     

    Also, I had some weirdness with installing the 1.9... for some reason, it wouldn't work when I put the script file in my SimCity\SimCityUserData\Packages folder, I had to copy it to just the SimCity\SimCityUserData folder as well.  Not sure if it would work without the file in the ...\Packages, but it definitely wouldn't  work when I just put it there.

    the first time in a new map after one has installed the mod it wont work you need to restart the game once you have claimed it.

     

    The train station thing is from procks mod

    does this still happen after a restart?

     

    I know that this happens whenever one claim a new city and will persist until one has restarted the game.

     

    i think newly claimed maps are downloaded from the server and uses default rules. the reason the appearances and the menu icon work is due to them being unique since i changed their instanceID's to something not used by the game.

     

     

    Also i noticed that for some reason sewage can not use my street to get out of the city why i don't know

    i'm working on that

     

    also signals don't seem to use my street either
