Yes, I'm a census geek. But, this seems to be generating some controversy in Ainkien... 49.gif

    Thanks for your comments, everyone!

So -  what has been going on in Ainkien in recent years? That is the subject of the third and final part of the "tour" portion of this city journal.

Here is a map of Ainkien's boundary up to 2006:

    And then:

This is the current Ainkien National Map:

Today I'm going to share some news about Ainkien's economic stimulus act, which has been underway for nearly 9 months:

It looks like the government package is getting a lot done. I look forward to a speedy economic recovery.

Great Update! Question: How did you make your region view flat (the pictures on the lower right)? Good luck and God bless!

    Thanks for the comments, guys.

Jon paulo: you take screen shots of your region (I had to take four), and then you put them into a graphics editor (mine is Photoshop Elements, the "light" version of Photoshop). You play with the stretch, skew and distort until you square up the corners, then match them all together like a puzzle to get the entire region's view.

It's really not that hard, but you have to be patient with the stretching and skewing process if you have a lot of ocean water involved. My Ainkien map was relatively easy, but I've never gotten the Nalsa Islands map (several pages before this one), quite right.

Thanks, Daniel Cote, Whitstable was inspired by the small rural places in Frogface's Thames.

Here's something else you can do with a "flattened" region view: put it in GoogleEarth!

That aerial region view is quite the eye catcher, a very well done show of your region, great work.
