Ocean Point

Hey,

I've been on ST for a while, but I've just very recently begun building my own cities and commenting (Thank God for summer break!!). I love just coming to these pages to see all the styles of city building that are unique to each person. I'd have to say that I really love Ocean Point. I love that you've gone for realism over big skyscrapers and high population that seem to be the most common goals for many people. Finesse and realism have their own special rewards, and looking at a city like Ocean Point is so much more awe-inspiring to me. Thanks for being willing to share Ocean Point (and your maps as well!) with me. I really appreciate your work. All of it.

Well folks, Ocean Point isn't completely history. Yet, that is. For now, it's still alive and kickin'.

Like I said in my goodbye thread, I won't be active at ST anymore, but that doesn't mean that I'm leaving for good. Occasional updates will probably still occur to Ocean Point.

This update isn't too much....it's just the most recent regional satellite image. I excluded the southern expansion area from the picture, as I haven't started on that yet. The southern expansion is an area of about 4x5 medium maps or so that I have added on to the southern tip of the region. It's not terraformed yet, but I have some big plans for it.

Enough talk for now, here's the picture:




I'm hoping to provide updates on a monthly basis or so. Look out for that southern expansion.

Wow, I looked at that photo and my mind was blown away. I looked at it, and I thought you were comparing a real life arial photo with one of your region photos, until I realized that it was your region!! It looked so real!!!

I have the latest regional transportation picture below. I outlined the interstate highways, and overlayed the interstate signs on them like I always do. Enjoy.




Just the transpo picture wouldn't be enough for this little update, so I'm providing a little teaser of the southern expansion area. It is a 4x6 (Medium city tiles) area, 24 new tiles in all. I have begun to terraform this area. This picture is just a little hint of what is to come with the southern expansion:

I thought someone had just randomly bumped this thread, but turns out you're updating again! It's always nice to see you around, however sporadically you may have time for it. Those region views are an impressive reminder of your skills with this game, and I look forward to seeing further developments.
