    Slightly off topic:
(well it's my thread so who cares anyway? 10.gif)

My next door neighbour's surname is actually Stalin (though pronounced different).

    Oh the envy...  36.gif

    ..unrealistic.. Why is that?

But of course they are unrealistic!

    Why?

    1 It's a game?

2 My cities and towns are by no means complete. When I feel like making surburbs, I will.

3 There are actually towns in Russia that are more or less without surburbs. I've seen it.
    4 It's a game.

Thanks for asking -now begone! 3.gif

Just wanted to confirm Sepsis' mention of cities without suburbs in this part of the world (as if tovarish Prezident needs the support of bourgeois foreigners). Suburbs are, for the most part, a creation of capitalist wealth. Many cities around here simply end, with the apartment blocks giving way to fields and forests.

Check out this pic from Chisinau, Moldova (a place I happen to know well)

    chisniau.jpg

These buildings are actually called the gates of the city. You can see how it's nothing but forest (and before that fields), then all of a sudden the city starts.

Ok, this is what I expected.

I know there are cities without proper suburbs. Actually here, at his part of Budapest, I live a 100 metres away from the city border, in the last pre-fabricated residential block of the socialism. But, other parts of the city is connected to small sleep cities, villages and things like that. Actually

Oh I wish I had more spare time to play the game and show you more of the beautiful Rodina..
Behind the coats of arms there are stories of cities and towns, some of them already shown here, others yet to be built...

Like Kholodno, the large city in the far north..Located at such high altitude that snow never leave the ground.. Or Vladiseversk, the small mining town, also covered in snow, with its now rather infamous labour camp..

The island Baltaj, of which the southern half was occupied by the Ottoman empire in the 17th century and still has a muslim majority.

Oksan, the old Russian bastion that now is one of Rodina's most important ports for shipping lumber and minerals..

..there are plenty och cities and stories in my head..and a constant shortage of time..

    Sepsis! Sounds great, the stories.

I wanted to ask that, where is Rodina on the world map? at the black sea or where?

Good question. Been struggling over that myself. 19.gif

Had Rodina been without a coast I'd place it in central eastern Europe, somewhere south of  Belarus, near Slovakia, but as it stands I think Rodina has to be at the Black Sea, just east of Ukraine.

You could locate Rodina on the Caspian Sea too. I know, that the ottomans never get that far, but it is more unique, but less European.. So Black sea, near Georgia is a good choice. Or the northern europe?? Finland and these...

Liberty Islands is in the Eastern North Atlantic. West to Ireland and GB.19.gif

Ahhh! A lingering question answered. Rodina's close enough for me to visit. I'll have to see if there's a direct flight from Kiev...

Interesting to learn more about the ethnic minorities of Rodina as well. The presence of muslim Tartars is certainly plausible given Rodina's location. How on earth did you make the Zul'm castle?

    Good updates.

Did you know that Jarnomiedema released the statue of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov? It is great!

I wanted to ask you, Sepsis: how can I edit the stats of a building? A bat or lot or whatever. Which program do I have to use? Or yours are jsut eye-candy?

Yep.. already downloaded the statue. I provided one of the pictures on the request thread.

Some of my buildings/lots are eye-candy, others are edited.
Do you have any specific building in mind?

The case is that I want to create socialistic pre-fab housing areas. You sure know what I mean. The concrete monsters in vast numbers..
I have great plugins, bats, but they don't like to grow. I must change their stats too. Some house too less or too much comrades. 2.gif Proletariats?
So stage, capacity, buildings-set ... you know. By the way I use that -I forget its name- building sets mod. (Where only just the residential plugins grow.)

Well I haven't edited the stats of the socialist-like buildings at all. Just modified the lots.
I have had some difficulties getting them to grow, but patience and lots of low wealth industry and commercial have worked somewhat..

Congratulations for the work of yours, but I stil don't know which program to use to edit the stats.
    Which?
I don't have all the time to play so I want to speed it a bit up.
