Station Capacity Issues with NAM 31

Sorry to post something out of the general NAM 31 bug trackers and discussions but I am having a hard time finding anything about what's going on. Since I updated to the NAM 31 I've lost passenger capacity on my bus stops, train stations, subway stations and some el stations (Ashland primarily). Most concerning is the subway and bus stops, the rest I can replace easier but with so many bus stops I'm not sure what to do. I've reinstalled the NAM several times using varying capacity settings with no luck. I'm on a Mac (no one reads the Mac forum...) running Snow Leopard and haven't had any issues before NAM 31.

Thanks for your help and advice!!!

ps. Also can't find canals anymore or any of the new bridges... less concerned about these though.

There is a bug in the Mac version of SC4 concerning station capacities.  Are you experiencing this problem with the standard Maxis stations?  If so, a quick fix is to remove the file "Maxis Stations, Tollbooths, and Transitions.dat" from your installation; you'll then get the standard Maxis stations back.  Meanwhile, we can get this fixed before the release of NAM 31.1, which is imminent.

But since you mentioned you changed the capacities (which, as you saw, doesn't help), I can tell you what the bug is:  For things to work properly on the Mac, the Rep count of the Transit Switch Entry Cost and the Transit Switch Traffic Capacity properties must be set to zero.

The Ashland station was not shipped with the NAM, although Madison and Wells was.  I'll have all our stations checked, as we know what causes this bug.

How did you manage to NAM 31 on your Mac?  Did you first install on a PC and then move the files over?

Awesome! Removed the stations and tollbooth, etc. dat and that did the trick.

You're right about Ashland, I meant to say Madison and Wells. Thanks.

As for my installation, I use CrossOver for Mac. It's the best for extracting .exe files. It's changed my whole world playing this game when I discovered it. It allows me to extract files and use a lot of the functionality PC users get when installing.

While I have you, maybe you can help me with this one too. I still can't seem to get any of the additional bridges from the latest update. As well, my GLR and HSR bridges can drag across water but always convert to raised GLR and HSR bridges. You have any idea what might be causing these things?

I really appreciate your help! Thank you!!!

I'm sorry, but I don't.  The installer is actually quite complex, being many times the size of the previous installer, and the best bet for Mac users is to run the installer in a PC environment and then move the two directory hierarchies ("Network Addon Mod" and "z___NAM") to your Mac.

If you do this, I'd recommend waiting for NAM 31.1, which is due out imminently.
