Simtropolis isn't the only place.  It seems like the world went all-out this April:

Even the White House:

A general list of websites:

I remember a few good pranks in the past, but it seems to be everywhere I turn on the internet today.  Which is interesting, considering that April Fool's Day isn't completely international.  Also considering how politically correct everyone strives to be these days.  Maybe good humor isn't dying after all.

My advice is not to accept any carbonated drinks from anyone today.   :P   Happy April Fool's Day Simtropolis!

Jajaja, just kidding, is just because where I live this day, when you do all the jokes that you want, is december 28, day of the holy innocents.

Actually april fools exists because the difference between the gregorian and julian calendars. The new year according to the julian calendar is from march 25 to april 1st, in 1564 the Pope Gregory XIII ordered that the new year were moved to its actual position, january 1st, this to correct the mistakes and gaps in the julian calendar. But some countries, as Great Britain and its colonies doesn't take the gregorian calendar inmediately, instead they used the julian calendar, while in Spain and its colonies the gregorian caledar was already a calendar of regular use, making look the people that were using the julian calendar as fools.

I'd post the same remark about Youtube that I did on an outside blog, but the original transcript for the blog is all A's and I can't translate it.

I think the alphabet it trying to retaliate, and it took my avatar and signature image hostage, as well.
