so my city is slowly falling apart. while Sick sims still walk to the clinics for treatment, it requires an ambulance to go and pick up Injured sims, alas my ambulances refuse to even leave the clinics to pick up injured sims...

 

my population is now a 1/4 of what it was simply because of "too much death"

 

i am pretty sure this must be a bug since my ambulances stopped working when i remodeled my health system (shortly after a zombie out break, ugh i barley had 1 sick sim and i get zombies!), ironically to be more effective at a lower cost. i now have 2 clinics instead of 5.

- they are almost always empty as it is a university town (4 1/2 hats 3 cogs near zero pollution) and the only ones being treated are "sick sims"

 

obviously unless i can find away to get my ambulances to respond this is yet another city that is going to die to a bug.  so far i have tried:

- fully exiting the game

- maxing out ambulance bays

- adding a 3rd clinic

the next thing i was going to attempt was adding an hospital however since my population is dwindling the cost to plop one is out of my reach for the moment. i suspect this solution will be in-vain, so after this i will see what happens by making a second city with the soul purpose of sending ambulances.

 

just looking for solutions if anyone has managed to fix this kind of issue in the past, to me it seems like the same bug that affects garbage and recycling centers when destroyed by natural disasters.

    plopped a hospital with absolutely no effect. have build a city to the side that is sending 6 ambulances, while the main city sends it 2... thus far it has said "ambulance man's ambulances to the rescue" once.. however no ambulance came... i guess i will have to let it run for an hour or 2, to see if there is any effect.

     

    Edit: lol spoke to soon... the neighboring ambulance arrived a day or 2 "game time" after the sim had died!

    I had a similar issue.

    Plopped a hospital and they started responding again. Try destroying your clinics too. One might have got 'stuck' somehow. Deleting might release this 'bug'.

    Yea, a few cycles after plopping the hospital my ambulances come back, well 1 has...  the first time i spotted one of my own ambulances, it was leaving the city "taking patient to hospital" strange that it drove straight past the hospital on its way out (yes it was my ambulance not the neighboring citys). shortly after that everything started working again...  tbh im really not sure what rectified the issue.

    Its a bug, ive had it happen with firetrucks and police before as well, not sure what triggers it. Though my theory was destroying a building while the police/firetrucks ect are out on call.

    Are your ambulances there but not responding, or are they gone? There's a bug with disappearing service vehicles when you destroy their garage and no current fix besides building more and more garages. It seems to be by far the worst with ambulances:

    I saw this thread a while ago and thought "Boy I'm glad this one didn't happen to me" And sure enough, last night, I had people dying off left and right, and no injured people being taken to the clinic. I went to check on those lazy ambulance drivers and...where the heck did they all go? Yup, I am now a statistic in this glitch. A clinic that says it has 4 ambulance, but the garages are all empty, fantastic. I placed another clinic, no ambulance in its main front bay, but I added an additional bay, and AHA! an ambulance, look at that! So I demolished the original clinic, and kept the second one with its one measly ambulance. Neighbor cityies are set to provide ambulances, but even though I get that message "Neighbor's ambulance races to the rescue" they never actually come.

    And what's even worse than this? Save up $400,000 for a refining division at Oil HQ, save up $75,000 for a refinery...NO TRUCKS IN THE GARAGES! Wow, now I have a pile of plastic and fuel that just sits in the refinery. I semi-solved this one by placing a second refinery, and that did build with trucks, so I tacked on some additional garages. Trucks from the second refinery will go service the first one, and sometimes they even sleep in the first one's empty garages...very strange.
