Well, this would be my first CJ. I hope you like the content I provide, and feel free to comment, add suggestions, etc.

My Region is Lithium County. It comprises so far of Lithium City (yet unbuilt, but will be the center of everything), Titanium Springs, Prometheus, South Silver (in the future I will build Silver City), Argonia, Argonian Delta, and Krypton Kurb. And as you can guess the city names are elemental.

Note: some planning for cities will force me to use the more money cheat.

LithiumCountycombined2.JPG

Argonia, Argonian Delta, and South Silver are located on the Argon River, all south of Titanium Springs.

LithiumCountywestsatellite.JPG

Note: in making my region, I do not throw in landforms and rivers until I'm ready to work on a city. I can then personalize the features to the city they are nearby. The Argon River is made in this way.

LithiumCountywestannotated.JPG

This is the map to the future developments that will occur. Included are the Promethian Highway, scheduled to pass through the future city of Silver City and just south of Lithium City. The Argonian Highway will follow the Argon River to the border of the county (yes, this is a big-ass county).

Finally, a closeup on the roads comprising of Titanium Springs and Lithium City.

LithiumCountycentraltransportation.JPG

I hope that Titanium can help Lithium grow with an acceleration or at least provoke skyscrapers to rise. (High hopes)

Keep checking for more information as more cities are added and traffic actually fills the roads.

Titanium Springs and Prometheus closeup pictures

    TitaniumSpringsdowntownundeveloped.JPG

This the downtown center of Titanium Springs. I think I might have gone a little overboard with the roads but they handle the traffic (For now at least.) Plus this centered pattern shows where downtown actually is.

    TitaniumSpringswhole.JPG

Backing out, we can see the Titanium Springs Intl. Airport (at this stage being worked on). It should be able to handle Titanium and Lithium City.

    TitaniumSpringssomedevelopment.JPG

Some development has occured by this picture.

Now on to Prometheus, just south of Titanium Springs.

    Prometheus.JPG

Right now it's quaint, but I expect heavy traffic flow, so I placed plenty of avenue. Notice the giant X crossroads south of town.

    PrometheusRailyards57786.JPG

A closeup on Prometheus Railyards and its turntable (created by oppie from SCC). Maybe a little hectic with the rails also, but they can always be changed.

Stay tuned for more details and information.

I am finding that my commercial zones are not developing as they should this week. Usually demand would be up and they would flourish, but they haven't. Then again I have been placing a lot of high-density so that won't develop until a certain pop. is reached. These downloads have messed up my energy supplies too. There would be times when I had things hooked up and power flowing but nothing was producing.

Bugs aside, the region is turning out nicely. I will get to rearranging Titanium Springs' downtown area (more developmental friendly), and I will start work on Lithium City.

    LithiumCountyannotated2.JPG

There are many other areas forming though, with new highways (using avenues) and expressways (using highway). I also have plans for a new city on a big map called Bromine Bay, located on what other than Bromine Bay. There will be a new thruway and bypass heading towards Bromine Bay from Argonia to the north. The Argon River will also be extended eastward towards another large future city. That city will sit in a bend of the Argon. Freeways from Lithium City and Bromine Bay will intersect here. The bridge over the Argon at South Silver is now called Mendelsohn Bridge, and the highway that crosses it and continues north is the Silver Cities Highway. Now there is Silver, North Silver, and South Silver. Along the Argon River, the Argonian Highway and the South Argonian Highway have been extended.

As for the towns themselves, I will highlight today on Argonia, North Silver, and South Silver. Not much has developed in these towns but you will get the basic ideas of their layouts.

    Argonia1.JPG

Argonia is the center of the Argon River basin and is the last port before the delta. The waters here are a little choppier than upstream where the banks are open and wide. Here the banks are remnants of an ancient canyon.

    Argonia2.JPG

At the industrial sector of town, across the river, is the crossroads of the South Argonian Highway and the Bromine Thruway. The Bromine Bypass starts here. It should be noted that the Bromine Thruway continues on through Prometheus to the north and on the Titanium Springs.

    NorthSilver1.JPG

There isn't much to North Silver right now. This pic shows downtown a year after the town began. In the future, North Silver appears to be a major industrial neighbor to Lithium City.

    southsilvercombine2.JPG

This is a collage of the indusrial side of South Silver. South Silver's main part of town is full of beaches and ferries, transporting people all up and down the Argon. Mendelsohn Bridge is seen on the right. This is also where the S. Argonian Highway ends, but it may be carried out further along the south front of the river in the future.

    SouthSilver1.JPG

A closeup on the bridge and highway.

    SouthSilver4.JPG

    The remainder of South Silver.

Keep looking for more updates. Note: I think jury duty will hold me back a little this next week.

This looks promising. I think that you might have to destroy some of those ferry terminals because sims don't use the ferry to travel down the river, they only travel across. You might also need to get the Bridge Height Mod (avaliable on the Mods section of ST), your bridges seem a bit high, or maybe that's because you want ferries to pass under right? Great so far 44.gif

Regarding SC4KY's statement about Sims not able to travel down the river: Well I find that many of my Sims do travel in close proximity of the city down the river via the ferries. I also see that they travel to other cities that way.

Look at the map for example.

    LithiumCountytransferry.JPG

Seems the dotted travel lines that represent ferries cross over city limits.

Just wanted to explain why it's ok to have all those ferries. They can now take an express trip from Bromine Bay to the newly founded Silicon Bend upstream. (Yes, you haven't heard of them yet.)

Keep watching for info on the Bend and the Bay.

This is another update for Lithium County. It seems the jury thing hasn't taken all my time, but it still may. This update will include Bromine Bay and Silicon Bend.

Bromine Bay is located in the lower left hand corner of the county. Silicon Bend is located on a bend of the Argon further upstream.

Here's the first region view pic showing the process of stretching out the river.

    LithiumCounty10901943182.jpg

Note that this is before Silicon Bend was founded.

This next pic shows some development at Silicon Bend and Bromine Bay.

    LithiumCounty1090205156.JPG

Some of the interconnectivity between the Bend and the Bay.

    LithiumCounty109020524932646.JPG

A closeup on Salt Town, the industrial complex of Silicon Bend. It is currently dirty industry, but the lawmakers of the Bend will make sure it will more truly represent the town with tech.

    SiliconBendSaltTown.JPG

    SiliconBendTwinBridge.JPG

Downtown Silicon Bend, with the newly built Bend Stadium. Another point of interest are the double bridges, one avenue, the other interstate highway. The town at the foot of the bridges on the opposite side of the Argon is simply called Twin Bridge. More residential development will occur here and spur growth in the direction of Silicon Bend's landing strip.

On to Bromine Bay, once an stopping point along the Northern Path, where thousands of settlers would make their way to bigger civilization, but now on its way to being one of the top coastal cities in the world.

    BromineBayhighlights.JPG

A closeup on Cape Eagle and Downtown.

    BromineBayCapeEagle2.jpg

A closeup on Wayside Point and Downtown.

    BromineBayFermiForest2.jpg

And to end this update, an overview of the area as the population hit 100,000 people.

    lithiumcounty100000.jpg

I will now try to concentrate on the cities that have been created rather than creating new cities. They need development, and if you guys want to see skyscrapers, then bear with me. The south Argonian Highway is near completion around the length of the Argon. New pictures will show the hill cut out in the Delta, thus creating a single route from the Bay to the Bend. Lithium City will also been shown with more detail and development, and Titanium Springs has had a downtown makeover. Until then...

It will be nice to see how this all comes out with some more development. I agree that it might be a good time to focus on the cities you have already made and let them grow. Wow, you sure do have a lot of seaports. 2.gif

Very good road layout you have there and it's a nice city. BTW riffsyphon1024
, your sig image is too big so I'd suggest you change it to 300x50 (the site standard).

Even though I said I was going to concentrate on the existing cities, I still hated looking at all this open space and I had to do something about it. And I did.

You are witnessing the first glimpse of Eastern Lithium County.

    An update on Lithium City.

I'll give you just one pic today that has an overview of the city. Notice the really tall skyscraper, Cobb's Altura Tower.

    lithiumcitycombinetext.jpg

I also have gone nuts in the eastern sections of Lithium County, building up Goldtown (a gambler's paradise), Mercury Lake (an industrial city with super toxic air and polluted water), Mercuryville (with its many bridges that span the Radon River), Ironborough (a major port city), and Fort Hydrocarbon (with its military appeal). Pretty inventive stuff eh.

Here's another pan of the county, this one at population 400,000. Sorry for the lack of detail in this pic, I just wanted to show how everything was laid out. You might be able to read the city names (squinting helps).

In this update I will show most of the new cities. I have also been building up some of the other cities but this new section of Lithium County has me by the throat. With the use of the hole digger I downloaded from ST, I am going tunnel crazy. I now want to construct a county wide superhighway with many pieces underground, with unhalted traffic and few intersections.

I have also been taking city name suggestions from members of ST and choosing the best from those sets. The original premise was to make it like a contest in which the one with the most interesting name would get their city in my map but I find that's impossible because I like too many of the names. So I will use more than one, possibly a bunch, not just cities, but suburbs, industrial sectors, and for other points of interest such as bridges. And for the person who does have the best name, I will grant them a highway in their name.

So these are the ones I wrote down and placed with their respective creators.

    city_name_list.jpg alt=Image Hosted by I
So far so good, but the decision for the highway is tough at best.

As for the existing cities, I start the tour with an overview of Eastern Lithium County.

    lithiumcountyfuture.JPG

Now I take you to Goldtown, an gambler's paradise. The people of Goldtown are more than willing to have the casino here, as long as strict policing is enforced. Recently the Golden Links golf course has been a hotspot for random golf club beatings and old-timer bullying.

    Goldtown-Jun15-091091164364.jpg alt=Imag

Notice the new developments either in the works or yet to develop: Glycerine, the industrial area to the north, across the Chlorine River, and Steel-On-Chlorine, a residential area to gleam with traces of the Old Kingdom.

Goldtown funds, which are gaining upwards of $900,000, have led to the construction of the first underground highway in Lithium County.

    Goldtown-May22-101091233723.jpg alt=Imag

Now westward to the little town of Sulfurside.

    Sulfurside-Jul4-001091165946.jpg alt=Ima

The thing about Sulfurside is that it was just the little town it still is, until they put the interstate highway through, obliterating the views of the countryside. Sulfurside officials are attempting to push the highways underground, and follow Goldtown's lead. However since the construction of the highway, more people have been traveling to Fort Hydrocarbon, Goldtown, and Mercury Lake to work.

The people of Sulfurside, if you haven't noticed already, have taken a liking to perfection, so the roads and water pipes are in a certain fashion.

    Sulfurside-Nov12-011091166384.jpg alt=Im

On to Fort Hydrocarbon, with a military base named (you guessed it) Fort Hydrocarbon.

    FortHydrocarbon-Jun3-001091143965.jpg al

Ft. H, as the people like to call it, uses the highway system extensively, with a direct route to Lithium City and western Mercury Lake. Its proximity to a large commercial center and a large industrial center promote accelerated growth.

Most of Mercury Lake is a toxic place, with air that could literally kill.

    MercuryLake-Apr5-051090886687.jpg alt=Im

But thanks to the preventive measures of the neat-freak East Lake Village, surrounded by air cleaners and isolated from the remainder of the lake, high wealth development has actually risen in Mercury Lake.

    MercuryLake-Jun18-111091243635.jpg alt=I

    MercuryLake-Sep16-101091155564.jpg alt=I

The residents of Mercury Lake, being the neat-freaks they are, do not work in the majority of the industry, but rather in the small commercial sector by the Mercury River or in neighboring Goldtown.

Mercuryville borders Mercury Lake on the east and Goldtown on the south. This city is all about bridges.

    Mercuryville-Feb7-041091073761.jpg alt=I

So far, most of the bridges lead to nowhere, just up and down the Radon River. Soon, however, many people will settle on the opposite side of the river from Mercuryville. New settlements include: Upper and Lower Bismuth, Leadford, Mercuryville Proper, and Tin Town. Back on the townside of the river are the new settlements Mercury View, with its waterfront parks, and the industrial zone Acetic. Radon Falls to the north is a suburb of Radon Rapids.

    Mercuryville-Dec4-021091073097.jpg alt=I

Ironborough is located at the confluence of the Argon and Radon Rivers. This location makes it prime for shipping to both Bromine Bay and Goldtown.

    ironborough_combine4.jpg alt=Image Hoste

So there you have it. For this update I am through. If you still want to be a part of the city naming process, PM me. Or if you see me in the chat, tell me your name there and I will add yours (if worthy enough) to the list.
