question about money cheats/mods

First of all, I'm not entirely new to SC4, but it has been well over at least three years since I've played. In fact, when I fired her up last night. I was shocked by how .... unfamiliar it felt. I was almost ashamed. In fact, playing it helped me to appreciate some features in the new 2013 SC game such as being able to find out exactly and quickly why a business isn't doing well or what's the matter with a sim.

First two towns I did; I have one town i intend to be a utility zone. At some future point, they'll only have enough RCI to support their power plants, water pumps/sewage, and trash dumps for all surrounding areas. I read somewhere the other day that if you filled it with just those things; that you could just let it run and not come back to it, and then you wouldn't have to worry about putting those in your next door towns? Thought I'd give that a try. then next door to that town in one of the smaller 4 bit towns; I made one that was by far and large a farming community. Over time, if they end up not wanting it; I'll probably convert some of it into high tech industry or something. Their population is pretty small, but it was doing exceptionally well. Money was always steadily coming in.

Then, I moved to the BIG BIG zone north of them. I was gonna have that zone connect hte utility and the farming cities. This could become my future megatropolis. The two cities beneath would help feed various things including commuters and future students maybe? However, I started encountering a problem. I suddenly hit like @ 20k people all of a sudden. had too rapid of growth; now i keep running out of money and can't keep up. Next time i'll wait to add stuff till people are demanding it.... but w/e..

so onto thread topic:

today i come  home and google up money cheats. I read about a money tree question, but the person answering hints to something called "money office". Is that a mod? Or is it a hack or what?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080428160624AAwO73Q

^ this here. "or you could try money office it gives you 65000$ a month
and i think it includes 1 cop."

do i type that in the cheat bar like "weaknesspays"? or, is this something else entirely. if i'm having serious cash issues; is there a better/easier way to prop myself for time being other than doing weaknesspays a billion times over? cuz... that's really annoying. I know an old version of the sims you could type 1!1! a lot and give yourself insane levels of money.

Hello, Welcome to Simtropolis!

I do not think I have seen any type of Money Office that gives a person a sum of 65,000. If you search for "money tree" however, you'll find see many lots that achieve the same thing. However, there is one mod here that will ultimately rid you of typing in 'weaknesspays' forever. and always make sure you read the ReadMe file and the installation instructions.

Have a nice stay at Simtropolis!

I agree with 111222333444 (I think I'm going to call you "30" for short, since that's what they add up to ;) )...the Extra Cheats DLL is probably your best bet.  After you install it (pay attention to what the instructions say...very important), just open the cheat bar, right click in the bar, select "Moolah", then leave one space and type in a number without using a comma.  Then hit Enter.  The number you type is how much money you get.  So for instance if you want 25,000,000 simoleans, your entry should look like this: Moolah 25000000

awesome thanks guys! I happened to be lurking in a few other threads, and I found a refernece to a "cousin vinnie" mod that happens to help generate an easily spendable to prevent your game from crashing mod.

I happened to note on a lot of the mods; people say if you get tooo much money; the game will crash.

not really specifically related; but anyone remember the names of ones that let you edit how many jobs a site can have besides farming? the farming one will be great for that farming community in the south, but up in my bigger cityscape that i am prepping to be the site of my future metropolis; I am needing to provide higher number of jobs. The briefcase with the red "no" symbol means they don't have a job. Guessing that's what that is.

also, since i have a thread. I noticed in my metro-city spot. I had too much growth too fast; and now the schools, clinics, and police are all constantly throwing absolute fits and strikes... and constantly harrassing me about funding.. when a lot of their funding is at the standard line.. and some of them have it to the max. What more can I do???? The city isn't even that widespread yet. :boggle:

Yes, technically if you get too much money the city will start recording your budget as a negative number and then the game won't let you do anything in the city after that. It essentially tells you that you've been fired as a mayor, since you've completely run the city into the red. I'm not sure how much money is too much, but I do NOT advise adding too much money to your budget. But certainly adding several million won't hurt. I currently run my city with a budget of around $25,000,000 and have no problems. Still, I keep a keen eye on it and use the Moolah function to adjust it accordingly. If I need to bring it down, I do that.

Just today I learned about something called the  and   which doubles the number of jobs your industrial and commercial services zones provide. I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about...??

Depends on what you mean by them harrassing you.  What exactly are they saying?  It could simply mean you need to add more schools, a large hospital, and additional police/fire stations.

Hmm. I did look at those doublers. In the info about them, I thought I saw the program building had noted in comments that they don't actually "add jobs" so much as they double up the numbers of your commerce. Essentially, if you have a lot of demand for a certain zone; and you put in the doubler. It makes hte game think you've added more of that zone when you haven't.

Unless i'm wrong. Would love to be wrong and be able to add these doublers.

I don't know how they actually work, but the description for each mod specifically states it doubles the number of jobs.  As I interpret it, that means if an I-M factory normally offers 20 jobs, then the industry doubler mod will allow the same factory to offer 40 jobs.  In doing so, that means you do not have to add extra I-D or I-M zones in order to create more jobs.  For instance, if you have an 8x8 industrial zone which produces 400 jobs, then this mod will allow 800 jobs to be produced in that same 8x8 zone.  Now, given I'm not always the brightest bulb in the string of Christmas lights, it's possible I could be wrong, too.

I tried using the Industry Doubler Mod, and it did in fact add a lot more jobs in my industrial zones without the need to enlarge my zones.  However, my observation was that it had the most impact on my I-M jobs, which seemed to increase by a factor of about 75-100%, whereas I only gained about 50% more I-HT jobs.  So I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the type of Sims in my city.

As I said, I'm not sure if those are the mods you were seeking anyway.  Maybe this is the one you were looking for...

I think there is a tool called Cheat Engine. Google and download it, because with that, you can have infinite money in SC4. :)

Or you can modify an ordinance to give you money each month.

but you can only use one of these at one time.
