Is it possible to be an "anonymous user?"

I see there are usually around 400-500 users online and around 1500 guests, which, if I'm not mistaken, you need an account for ST/Exchange, so, that's a shame for them. But the anonymous users is always at 0, so I'm wondering if it is possible to be one.

I guess if you have an account, youre a user, if you don't, you're a guest, but is it possible to be an anoonymous user?

I believe the option to login as an anonymous user is not available, at least for standard members anyway.

I believe you are listed as an anonymous user if you are using some sort of private browsing mode, such as Incognito mode on Chrome.

Not possible to be an "anonymous" user - if you're logged in, you're name is listed, if you're not, you are a "guest".

 

We recognize that some people just like to surf the site, and download files, and creating an account to do so is a hassle.

 

So we've been testing ways to allow guests (non logged in visitors) to just download a file from the STEX without having to create an account and jump through unnecessary hoops. (It's been tested off and on the last couple weeks. We're still ironing this one out... so for now, an account is required to download, though it may change.)

When I first started visiting club simtrop that was also the case. One could download with being a member. I only registered when that stopped.
