I havent bought the game yet, and I am just wondering which one to buy.....Limited Edition or Deluxe? And essentially what is the difference?

Get the regular the extra content is like 2 buildings - doesn't do a great deal certainly not worth the time. I never use them.

The limited edition version has the Maxis Man and Dr Vu buildings which is just a fun little extra and they are supposed to fight each other if you have both in your city.  I haven't really tried them out yet.  It's a bit of a novelty really.

The Deluxe edition has the buildings above as well as the German, French and British city sets that you can purchase each set as separate DLC now so unless you really want all three sets I would look for the normal or limited edition version for the best price you can find (eg not from the Origin store) and if you really want them buy the sets separately.

The Deluxe edition includes 3 city sets: German, French & British. Generally speaking, it's extra landmarks, buildings and/or transport options. You can go to the link below and click on each set to see what it includes. You can also buy each set separately. If you decide to just get the limited edition then you can get the upgrade pack that includes all 3 city sets later (it's just the difference in price between the two editions so it's not any cheaper to get the Deluxe edition). Then you apparently get Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and the Brandenburg Gate plus the superhero stuff with limited and only the superhero stuff with Deluxe.

 

From what I've heard the UK, France and Germany only get their respective landmarks with their limited editions of Sim City Societies 2.

I know this a little off-topic, I held the game in my hands today but I felt little incentive to buy it at this point. Inevitable launch bugs, small tiles, odd density distribution etc. It's, however, a positive that the servers are becoming stable but Sim City 4 pretty much has everything I need from a city simulator / builder and it's well tested and expanded upon. I hope that SimCity eventually will evolve and offer region gameplay which is similar to Sim City 4. If that ever happens, I might be more interested in the new feautures, such as city specialities, but these pre-designed regions separated by unusable land does not compute with my Sim City 4 spoiled mind. Creative freedom over novel features that are inhibited by limitations. Maybe I'll be playing the new game in 2023.
