cool. it doesnt have to be these guys it can also be maxis learning from their mistakes and making this games NUMBER 1 REQUIREMENT be that you must be online. Maxis can create a MUCH better game next time. IF there was ever a way to leave EA, jump ship!!!

We get it, the game has issues right now.

 

I don't know whats worse, the fact that I have a hangover at work from playing SimCity until 3:30 AM last night, or the fact that I'm reading this dribble.

    yes..there´s CiM2 in the door, some rummors about Tropico 5 and even a new anno. Ok, they arent "REALLY" city building games..but still...

    Before I give $25.00 I would like to see more of what they have so far. They should put up a site with some development screenshots and info about what's under the hood to run this beast. I don't mean to sound skeptical (I truly want to believe) but the developers must understand that this community has had more than it's share of broken and empty promises by 3 different companies. One spoke the same proposal minus the "back us before the next few weeks" and another has just shocked us all with what they just put out. Remember Monte Cristo's promise when they announced their "community based project"? I hope they have a good foundation for what they say it will be capable of so far because this niche of gamers has been raped and pillaged multiple times and probably needs therapy. I want to back them but I want to see more.

    Have you checked out the Terraforming video? I backed this project after seeing that.

    I am pretty sure that IGN was recently subject to a hostile takeover and forced to cancel their IPL (an electronic sporting event in Las Vegas). Are you sure that IGN is reliable these days?

    Path of Exile is proof that crowdsourced alternatives can turn out extremely well. At the same time, thus far Civitas is just some screenshots of wildly out of scale models next to a road and a concept video of terrain painting "done at 4 am". There's not even a website or list of these former developers so we can know what they've worked on in the past, and they have a planned release of November 2013. There'll have to be a lot, lot more revealed before I'd drop a dime.
